In this episode The Hawks are in battle against an unknown warrior of intense strength. When one of the Raiders leaves the building he tells Guts that it is Nosferatu Zodd. Guts enters the building alone and tells the rest of the raiders to remain outside.
Guts however soon realises he is no match for Zodd and is beaten easily, before long Griffith shows up too but even with their combined strength they are no match for Zodd and he transforms into his demon form.
Zodd then notices the Behelit around Griffith's neck and recognises it and leaves without killing them.
