Zetsuen no Tempest: The Civilization Blaster

Overview

A Japanese manga series written by Kyō Shirodaira and illustrated by Arihide Sano and Ren Saizaki, currently at 7 volumes and going. An anime adaptation by Bones began airing on October 4, 2012. The story was reportedly inspired by the works of William Shakespeare, including The Tempest, Hamlet, and Romeo and Juliet.

Plot

Seeking revenge upon those who are responsible for the brutal murders of his parents along with his sister, Mahiro Fuwa seeks out the witch Hakaze, striking out a deal with her in the hope of bringing justice for his family by enacting his revenge upon the killers. Enter one Yoshino Takigawa, one of Mahiro's few friends and a classmate at the same high school. When Mahiro goes missing and the dangerous witch Hakaze seeks out and confronts Yoshino regarding his friend's whereabouts, Yoshino finds himself being pulled into a chaotic vortex of constant crisis that could very well throw the Earth into wild chaos.
