Erza Scarlet knows Midnight's two weaknesses. First, Midnight cannot reflect/ warp human body because he can only bend objects. For example, Erza was in her blue robes and she did not feel any pain when Midnight is bending her clothes. Second, he cannot reflect more than one thing at a time when Midnight is bending Erza's armor, Erza throws a sword at him, but Midnight dodges this normally.
Midnight's monstrous form that only appears at midnight has no effect on Erza because it's an illusion affecting the eyes.
With Midnight gone, all six prayers are lost which resurrects Zero, the alternate and psychopathic personality of Brain.
Zero easily defeats Natsu, Lucy, and Gray plus Happy.
