Z

Z is a servant of the Choushin known as Tokimi who was tasked on monitoring developments with Tenchi and his group, but not to inflict any harm on Tenchi. Instead, Z had set up a scenario that led Mihoshi's young brother, Misao, and a small squad of his men to attack the planet and try to kill Tenchi. When they failed at the job, Z decided to take matters into his own hands and kill Tenchi himself. He sought to force the Choushin into resurrecting Tenchi when he was killed, which would strip him of his ability to manipulate Light Hawk Wings and make Z the only potential of higher power left in the sisters' quest. To ensure the Choushin didn't get in the way of his plans, Z had traveled through time in the future to gain the entity known as the Counter-Actor, who was Misaki Masaki Jurai, Sasami and Ayeka's mother. Z's plan backfired though when his seemingly fatal attack on Tenchi instead led to the boy's power to surge out of control with Z being killed off after being struck by a blast of powerful cosmic energy. He would later be resurrected by Tokimi as an infant when the Choushin reversed time to undo all the damage caused by Z's actions.

Z had strong anger and hatred towards the Choushin for their actions in trying to find the higher being they sought out. Being a former space fighter pilot, Z's family and allies were killed off by battle machines coming from Tokimi's hidden temple. Critically injured in the attack and witnessing the death of his entire family, the emotional trauma drove Z into manifesting his Light Hawk Wings which he used to recover from his injuries and wipe out the battle machines. Delighted at the manifestation of Z's powers, Tokimi took a frightened Z into her hands and made the man into her servant.

Z had control of five Light Hawk Wings, which made him an extremely powerful threat to Tenchi and his group. He was capable of easily destroying planets without effort and wiping out entire starship fleets, as well as stopping Ryo-ohki's spaceship form with only one hand and overpowering it. Z could also travel at faster than light speeds as he was capable of flying from Earth to Saturn in a matter of seconds when Tenchi warped away from him in their confrontation with one another.
