Yuri

Origin

She befriends Satan and allows him to possess her body. As time goes by, she tells Satan what life and living is. This is a year before she meets Shiro. When Ernest finds out she is carrying Satan's children inside her, he tries to execute her. However, Satan frees Yuri, and Yuri gives birth to Rin and Yukio and tells Shiro to care for them.

Creation

Yuri, who was created by Kazue Kato, has no information regarding any inspiration used to create her. She first appears in Blue Exorcist 23. Her Japanese voice actress is Megumi Hayashibara.

Evolution

Appearances

Like Yukio, she has three beauty marks; however, she has in a different places. There is one mark under each eye and one on the forehead near her hairline.

Personality

She has an ambitious personality due to her dreams and that she never falters from those goals. She believes demons and humans can get along.

Relationships

• Satan - Yuri's first love is Satan. She bore his two sons after her kindness seduced the lone ruler of hell. Her dreams inspires Satan to unite Gehenna and Assiah.

Story Arcs

Even though Ernest lies to Yukio about Yuri, Satan tells the real truth to Yukio (see her full story in the origins) after the Messiah has failed to bomb the Gate of Gehenna. Later when Satan has control of Yukio's body, Yuri appears again when Satan remembers her on the bridge and her dreams. Satan states that he is close to achieving her dreams. Then after Satan loses control of Yukio's body and is now on a rampage, Yukio and Rin defeat Satan. After Satan goes back to Gehenna, he asks Yuri why their children opposes them. Yuri replies that their children are protecting what they love.
