Yuki's Mother

Creation

Yuki is a character in the Galaxy Express 999 series, which was created by Leiji Matsumoto, who is popular for the Captain Harlock franchise and its related series. She makes her first appearance in Episode #27 "The Goddess of Children and Easy Birth in the Snow Capital". In the anime series her design and creation are credited to Shingo Araki and Shigeru Kogawa respectively.

Major Story Arc

The Goddess of Children and Easy Birth in the Snow Capital

Yuki invites Tetsuro to her house where he is attended to by her mother. Later that night, Yuki's mother tells Yuki that she plans on cooking Tetsuro as food for Yuki and herself and selling his remains to a bone dealer. Tetsuro overhears this and tries to escape out of a window, but Yuki's mother shoots him in the back which knocks him out. Yuki tries to stop her mother but she is unable to until her mother discovers that Tetsuro gave her food earlier that day. Willing to repay his kindness, she decides to let him live and returns him to Maetel.
