Yugi Mutou

Origins

Yugi Mutou was an average high school student but he was shy and didn't really have any friends. He was also always interested in games. As such, his grandfather gave him a artifact that he had found on his expedition in Egypt. Yugi would work on the puzzle for 8 years without any success. One day, while he was trying to solve the puzzle, Jonouchi Katsuya and Honda Hiroto would come along and bully him, claiming they were trying to help him become a real man. Jonouchi even went so far as to throw a piece of the puzzle out the window into the school's drain system. However, the next day, Ushio had beaten up Jonouchi and Honda and pretended to be Yugi's friend saying he did it for them and demanded money for being his body guard but Yugi instead defended the two of them and claimed they were his friends, so Ushio just beat him up too. Because of the way Yugi stood up for them, Jonouchi retrieved the puzzle piece he threw away and Yugi was able to finally solve the millenium puzzle and when he did, his life would change forever as he inherited the power of the shadow games.
