1952- . Sketch artist and animator on many anime movies, including later installments of the Star Blazers series and Galaxy Express 999. In the 1980s he became associated with the output of Hayao Miyazaki, as an animator on both Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind and subsequent Studio Ghibli productions Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, and Spirited Away.
