Suzkui otherwise known as "Old Man" was one of the people Izumi killed during the Shinjuku Massacre. After the Massacre he is teleported into Gantz. He has been one of the mainstays in the manga since then.
Pre Gantz
Yoshikazu pre Gantz and Shinjuku incident are fairly unknown other than he is a widower and his wife died a few years prior to his "First Death" and that he has a grandson about Kuronos age.
Gantz
After joining the Gantz crew he immediatly attaches himself to Kei and says that "You are a confident one." even to Kei's dismissal of the accusation that he is confident in anything. During the new roster of Gantz players he and Kei ride the Monocycle and defeat a large dinosaur seeling the deal for that round. During their time on the vehicle they make a small bond as Suzuki drives and Kei fires out the back as the dinosaur approaches slowly. After Kei is thrown from the vehicle Old Man can do nothing but watch, but soon the dinosaur is slain by Kei and soon the rest of the team who participate are able to kill all the remaining aliens. This is the first mission for Old man and the first that every one survives, but just as all of the participants are being transported after succeeding in winning the mission a group of swordsmen come an kill all the remaining participants as they are being teleported. Suzuki watches and survives luckily he is transported just as the swordsman swings his sword.
