Shaman King is a series written by Hiroyuki Takei that ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen magazine in 1998. The series ended abruptly in 2004 with 32 volumes. After Shaman King had an anime adaptation that ran in TV Tokyo and on Fox Box, the manga series had a Kanzenban format in 2009. The Kanzenban series is the perfect edition that ends Shaman King officially with 27 volumes.

Shaman King is about Yoh Asakura who dreams to be Shaman King to get the easy life. He has to fight many shamans from all over the world in a tournament for the title, Shaman King.

For more information, please see the Beginner Guide To Shaman King for those who haven't read or watched Shaman King.

Now, for the news, Shaman King Flowers is about Yoh Asakura's son, Hana Asakura. This development is on the fifth volume of Shonen's Jump Kai Magazine where Hiroyuki Takei announces that this story will premiered in April and in the same magazine. Also, Takei states that the Zero Story will be accompanying the sequel, too.

In related news

Voice actress and singer Megumi Hayashibara confirmed on Tuesday that she sang Shaman King's "Osorezan Revoir" song for the video of the same name that was posted on Nico Nico Douga on October 21. Osorezan Revoir is the title of the 19th compiled volume of the manga series and an arc of the story .

Shaman King Historian Blog

Purpose: To document the history of past wiki editors, present, and future wiki editors. This is a commemoration to all wiki editors who worked hard. Since I used to be a historian for my clubs at college, my community service and role has seared this element into my Anime Vice life.

Note: This is not an exhaustive list since most of information are vague and going through wiki submissions of wiki editors are long. I don't have exact dates, but thought counts.

Volumes Timeline

First, I add the dates of the volumes of Shaman King since it gives a rough timeline for events before February 24, 2011. The dates for adding Shaman King volumes are very beneficial to this blog.

*Before I came to work on this project, 29 volumes were added already, and vols. 1-3 had plot summaries while volumes 10-26 had table of contents. In Shaman King, Hiroyuki Takei, author of Shaman King, created 32 volumes. I decide to add the remaining 3 volumes after I finished plot summaries for all of 29 volumes in the right format.

Conclusion and Thanks

I wanted to thank the previous wiki editors who worked hard on this franchise. It was a rough road of taking on Shaman King franchise alone for 7 months now. I met new people who edit on some the Shaman King pages and ask them to help out.

Author's note

Goal: I will complete this franchise, with a team or no team, by the end of this year. This is one of the major wiki projects that I have no partner on. I'm lucky to have a partner for Rave Master and a team on Fairy Tail.

*If I forgot you, I'm sorry. Can you PM me please, so I can add you. Oh, if you are one of the wiki editors who worked on Shaman King, I ask you give dates or any information for the historian blog and the vitae list.

Even though Shaman King has two manga series: the original series ended in 2004 with 32 volumes and the Kanzen-Ban started in 2009 and ended with 27 volumes*, Hiroyuki Takei announces in the 4th volume of Shueisha's Jump X magazine that they are publishing the zero story about Yoh Asakura. This story is slated for November 10 and that this story will lead up to a "big" project next spring.

The story will have 44 pages and a large poster.

*(Have to check Kanzen-Ban)

Thanks you for reading this report. Look forward to an all new Shaman King story!

This is part of the Anime Vice Vitae. This is similiar to FoxxFireart's blog for FMA brotherhood project. I am accomplishing the same goal for this empty wiki of Shaman King.

My schedule is watch 1 episode a day except on Tuesdays and Wednesday and add characters, concepts, images, and the good stuff. Only Friday and Saturday I tried to do 3 episodes. Leave a comment if you're interested in helping Animevice to fill the episodes, volumes, and characters.

March 25-April 3, 2011: Working on Project until Spring Break is over. Issues: Too much college lab work and the image goal is hard to fulfill.

Images Minimum Requirement

Add at least one image per character. Also, the goal is to reach a minimum of 10 images or more per episodes.

Note: I have trouble finding images so I use streaming or picsearch. I don't download images because of risk of viruses.

Updated since Mar 20, 2011

Episodes Requirement

Include plot summary (any length) and "Anime and Manga Differences" paragraph.

Please see episode 4 of Shaman King for a good example:

*As of March 20, 2011, I found out there was a need for another paragraph on the episode wikis: Japanese anime vs English Anime or Uncut English vs Original Cut (Eng). Somehow, I started off the project watching the uncut English version until I ran out at episode 6. As I watch the Japanese version and sometimes the English version, I noticed the words were different. For example, Minutians (Dub) to Koropokkuru (Japanese) and "Sword of light" (dub) to Harusame" (Japanese). Have to add a table of changed terms to the franchise page.

This will make the project more difficult.

Notice something new to add (Mar 29, 2011)

When watching dub and sometimes sub, there were key dialogues that were changed on purpose. (See picture of episode 14)

The concepts that are always in Shaman King are Shaman, Ghost, and Shounen. Add these to every episode and volume of Shaman King.
