These are less rumor-y than the last post, since these Amazon listings usually turn out to be true. But for the time being, the titles found by BL detective Kuri are officially in the “rumored licenses” category. That said, some of them are really awesome.

The two I'm particularly excited about are Our Kingdom: Arabian Nights, a one-off by Naduki Koujima featuring the characters from her hit high school romance Our Kingdom, and Reversible. Reversible is a single-volume anthoogy of yaoi stories from various authors, many of whom are debuting in the US with this book. It's the first time DMP has published an anthology since the ill-fated J-Boy by Biblos, whose first volume met with mostly positive reviews but couldn't be continued because Biblos went bankrupt.

The other two books are Fuuri Misasagi's I've Moved Next Door To You and the light novel Wagamama Go-Man, which was written and illustrated by Our Kingdom's Koujima as well.

You need more girls that are into yaoi to rejoice with you. :P

I've read a couple of yaoi books but most of them are... ehh. I haven't had a revelation with the most FANTASTIC yaoi book EVAR so I'm still skeptical on yaoi books.

It's like any genre-- there are awesome books and terrible books and a lot of mid-range books. I'd recommend Antique Bakery to anyone (though it's only debatably 'yaoi' anyway); Fumi Yoshinaga does some of the best character study work in manga, period. I'd also suggest Gerard and Jacques if you just want something funny (it seriously cracked me up any number of times).

I've never *really* thought of myself as a yaoi "fangirl" anymore than as a het "fangirl" or a yuri "fangirl" or a shoujo/shounen "fangirl." I like the medium and I like some titles in pretty much all of its genres. :)

Honestly, I am a yaoi fan but I have been very disappointed with a lot of yaoi releases.  I am not a Naduki Kouijima fan so I am not interested in reading anything by her.  I do like Fumi Yoshinaga's work.  Not all of yaoi mangas have high school settings so it baffles me as to why June Manga and the rest of the BL publishers continue to acquire so many mangas with high school settings and fluff!  There are only a few English-translated yaoi mangas that are the exception - The Judged, Last Portrait, Ichigenme, Yakuza in Love, Kizuna, A Foreign Love Affair, Seduce Me After the Show, Gerard and Jacques, Love Mode, Embracing Love, Viewfinder, Crimson Spell, Empty Heart, Lies and Kisses, Lovers and Souls, and the list goes on.  I am also a fan of Yayoi Neko's Incubus series.

I am not willing to purchase every yaoi manga that is published in English because I don't want to be disappointed in reading and spending cliched and sappy mangas.  I am very selective and I am not the only one either.
