Origin

Konan, Yahiko and Nagato (Pain) as Children

Yahiko is an orphan of the nation that's home to the Hidden Rain Village, This is where he met Konan and Nagato, fellow war orphands;and they all became the closest thing to family any of them had anymore. They had a small puppy which died in a explosion caused in a battle between the Sannin of the Hidden Leaf Village and Hanzou. They all survived by either begging or stealing food. Eventually, they found the Sannin, and Yahiko approached Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru. They asked for food and got some. They continued to follow and asked to be trained in ninjutsu. Jiraiya stayed behind to raise them and teach them what they would need to survive. One day The orphans were attacked by stone Ninjas, Yahiko was injured but was saved by Nagato. After this he vowed to become stronger so he could protect Nagato and Konan.

Yahiko's Death

Many years later Konan was held hostage by Hanzou, He threatened that if Nagato didnt kill Yahiko, Konan would die. Yahiko got a Kunai and stabbed himself, killing himself and saving Konan. His last words were " You are the messiah... You've gotta stay alive somehow.... you and Konan" Eventually, Yahiko's body would be used as Nagatos Deva Path of the Six Paths of Pain.He seems to have romantic feelings for Konan.

Creation

Yahiko is a supporting character of the Naruto series that was created by Masashi Kishimoto, It first began serialization Weekly Shonen Jump in November 1999. When he was first introduced, the readers were led on to believe that he was the Akatsuki leader known as Pain. This was just his body being controlled remotely by Nagato.

His first appeared while he was alive was in Naruto Volume 41, CH. 372 "The Weeping Land!!", and the first anime appearance was in Naruto Shippuden - Episode 128 "Tales of a Gutsy Ninja – Jiraiya Ninja Scrolls – Part 2". His character in the Japanese series is voiced by Kenyuu Horiuchi as an adult, and Wataru Hatano as a child. Yukari Tamura, and the U.S. dub produced by VIZ Media has yet to announce a voice actor for the role.
