A manga published by Kadokawa Shoten and was released in may 1992 and currently has 18 volumes and has put on hiatus because of the violence portrayed in the series and stopped crating the issues in 2003. An animated series directed by Rintaro and produced by Madhouse studios in august 1996 and in October of 2001 a TV show directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri and was once again produced by madhouse studios.

The Plot

In 1999 the end of the world sits waiting on the doorstep. The world sits on the brink of hell as the superhumans of the world gather on either side preparing for battle. The line has been drawn in Tokyo , which soon becomes the site of the end of the world. A young man named Kamui Shiro returns home after six years, wishing to protect his friends. Kamui soon becomes the protector of mankind as the story unfolds. The world as Kotori’s is killed at the hands of Fuma her brother. It becomes clear that Fuma will be the end of mankind and the two prepare for the final battle and the end of the world.
