St. Gotthard's Coat of arms

Wolfsmund is a manga authored by Mitsuhisa Kuji, former assistant of Kentaro Miura (Berserk). The main plot of the story revolves around the Gates of St. Gotthard, an important crossing point in the Alpes (crossing from Switzerland to Italy) located in the middle of mountainous terrain, there were no other passages possible in the nearest regions. The fact that this was a great strategical point and a important route of trade between the north kingdoms and the Italian States was evident. Being unable to cross in St. Gotthard could mean an exhausting journey of several months to cross around the mountains.

Well aware of this fact Wolfram the Governor of the Heavily Fortified Fortress, ruled with iron fist this passage allowing no one to cross. In each chapter it's told the arduous stories of people who try to cross the St. Gotthard Gates.
