Bio

Masane Amaha is a kind-hearted woman who, despite her good intentions, is fairly clumsy and not good around the house. She lost her memory during a mysterious earthquake that ravaged Tokyo and, curiously, Masane was found unscathed at ground zero, holding a baby in her arms. Six years later Masane and her daughter Rihoko return to tokyo to escape the NSWF's Child Welfare Division. They want to take Rihoko from Masane because Masane doesn't have any means of income for taking care of Rihoko and the possibility that Masane may not be the actual mother. After being arrested for trying to rescue Rihoko Masane is attacked by a man who turns into a machine called a I-Weapon. As she is about to be killed the mysterious scar on her hands is revealed to be the legendary artifact the Witchblade which awakens and kills the man. Since that day Masane got herself involved in the struggle for power between a huge corporation and a government agency, while trying to live her life peacefully with her daughter.

Based on the American comic created by Marc Silvestri, which was set in the 1990s, this science-fiction spin-off uses the hereditary nature of the witchblade to establish a continuity sufficiently far from the original to allow a different story.
