Character from the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Franchise. He teaches Jonathan Joestar Ripple technique, which can be used to fight the undeads.
Born from scholar family, but Zeppeli had great interest in researching the unknowns of the world. He joined archaeological group at his father's university and traveled all over the world. At some point he and his group reaches Mexico, and discover stone mask in underground Aztec ruin. During voyage to return home, Zeppeli's father discover the secret behind the mask and had become a vampire, slaughtering everybody on ship. When Zeppeli was about to be killed, the sun had risen and vaporized Zeppeli's father. Since the incident Zeppeli travel all over the world in search of way to fight against vampires. Finally he discovers his answer, the Ripple, in India.
William A. Zeppeli was created by Hirohiko Araki, the author and illustrator of series, as main character of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Phantom Arc. The original manga series was originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1987, until it was transferred to monthly Ultra Jump. Its first volume was released in August 10, 1987, published by Shueisha and still running for more than 100 volumes. It is one of the longest manga series running.

When he encountered Jonathan Joestar for the first time, he seemed eccentric. However as the fight against Dio continued on he became more serious, to the point that he sacrifice himself without a hesitation.
After Jonathan Joestar's near-death fight against Dio Brando, Zeppeli makes his appearance to inform JoJo and Dio is still alive. Impressed by the fact that JoJo is still after fighting against Dio bare handed, Zeppeli decides to teach JoJo his way of fighting style against the undeads, the Ripple technique.
After some training Zeppeli and JoJo decides to end Dio's reign of terror, however Dio and his minions turned out to be more formidable than they thought. Zeppeli was heavily injured after his attempt to defeat Dio, leaving JoJo to handle Dio's minions. When JoJo was in danger of losing the fight and get killed, Zeppeli sacrificed himself to save JoJo and gave his own lifeforce so JoJo can become stronger.
