Overview

We have a big wiki editor presence in our community, yet we are people who are behind the scenes. I seen so many projects, monthly or year long, that are posted by wiki editors, and we people have a short attention span. That's why we have FoxxFireArt's spotlight page to reminds us. Yet, there are limitations where only the best can be acknowledged and those who make daily edits over the long run of their free time are not always acknowledged. I know FoxxFireArt is a caring person and knows that we can only pick the best. That's why I created this thread to keep track of every wiki project on Anime Vice (if possible or as close as I can).

However, there are people out there documenting us outside the community. It's time that we record our history. It's not just wiki editors but the whole community, too. Since I'm a just average wiki editor who only cares about the wiki editing portion of our community. I'll try my best to record everything.

Why?

I wrote Recognition blogs for teammates and the people who used to contribute. Recognitions are my club's way of giving shout outs or acknowledgments to our people. This is how we remained close together. I was a former historian in my club, and my president was the first one to use it. She brought back a strong club at the end of a year.

Now, I use that concept here on Anime Vice to keep us together despite how busy our real lives outside of Anime Vice. I have to start out a separate Historian forum for the Fall 2010 to Fall 2011 to record all the past projects that were done to show the people that we are working hard.

Before I end this, I will list the people that I seen working hard.

Wiki Editors of 2010 to 2011

This is the solo work. See the team work below. All users are alphabetized.

Legend Key

I'll keep it simple. No letter with the number means the wiki editor does everything in that category. If a wiki editor does something specific, I'll add a letter.

Wow...took me a month to find this blog. Great list in regards to what everyone is doing recently, Takashichea

@ShadowKnight508:

Thank you so much! I haven't add the wiki project blogs and the team blogs yet. Feel free to add in your projects and such. Plus, there are more wiki editors out there that I haven't found yet. I have to keep staring at the activity feed from time to time. When I see someone new, I go to them and look at their wiki works. Give them some tips on the style guide. That's how I met a lot of new wiki editors. It's my new wiki mentor job here.

Edit:

Please tell me if the legend key is confusing. It's overwhelming, right?

I'm a big fan of collecting figures. I make it my mission to collect a figure from every show I've watched. And as such I'll try to add images of many characters' figures. That is a very nice list and very considerate thing to do.

Is that the same Sarumarine who wrote Totally Flaked?

@ReplicaRex:

Thanks! How should I add you? I see that you have been working on LilPri episodes.

An Image Hunter who finds figures and uploads them. That's very interesting. You know we have a Other Media Section for wiki style. You can talk about the price, size, weight, and such. See Victorique page for an example.

I haven't finished the archive due to the legend key, and I need to link every wiki editor's name. Plus, I got to search for project blogs that people post.

@MisterX:

I don't know for sure. You have to ask him. (Sarumarine is an active member of Giant Bomb, so there's a probable connection) See his Giant Bomb profile link

Is that the same Sarumarine who wrote Totally Flaked?

Please see question above.

@takashichea: The title of "Image Hunter" really appeals to me. Yes, I've been slowly adding episodes to that show (Lil Pri), mainly because I noticed it was empty.

I'll see what I can add to those pages in terms of figure descriptions. I'm still adjusting to this whole wiki concept. Never really did anything like this before.

@ReplicaRex:

Those names were from the types of wiki editors blog. I'll add you to the archive. You'll get the hang of wiki editing soon.

@buhssuht:

Don't worry about it.

Is this correct for so far? Did I miss anything from 2010 to 2011 for you?

  • Yu Yu Hakusho - Spring 2011 - Summer 2011 (Finished TBC)
  • Tiger and Bunny - Summer 2011
  • Boku Wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai - Summer 2011 - Ongoing
  • Persona 4 - Fall 2011 - Ongoing

My goal today: I'm going to finish this blog today after some weekly reports. Just got to hunt for Foxx's community spotlights, find everyone's project blogs, and add the legend key to every entry. The legend key would take the longest because I have skimmed all the wiki pages.

@Bigheart711:

For Someday's Dreamers, is it just manga or the whole franchise? I seen your name on the franchise and two of the volumes.

Edit:

A fellow wiki editor (name not disclosed) PM me and said that linking the works and specifying type of page would be helpful and easier to organize.

Nice blog. How do you even find this stuff? Digging through wiki submissions to search for stuff seems like it'd be an ultimate chore.

I'm Working my way through Wagnaria 2 (ha, you see what I did there? Clever, eh) and still have plans on slowly but surely grinding through Galaxy Express 999. I might pick up a show to do for this season. I'm watching Nisemonogatari, but I won't be Wiki editing for it since I think that will require better knowledge of the past series. I'm watching Another but I'm going to wait until it's near complete so I can marathon it. If these get simulcasted on CR or somewhere else that offers 720p and doesn't have a nonstop watermark, I will probably take on one of them assuming that they don't end up sucking:

  • Kill Me Baby
  • Amagami SS+... although I probably won't since I think others knocked out the first season so I'd rather move to something that might not get any love
  • Milky Holmes Season 2
  • Another... if the wiki is bare when I start to marathon it

@sickVisionz:

I tend to take notes of what other people are doing. I think it was since June or July 2011 that I started to pick up what wiki editors are working on. I was helping FoxxFireArt get reports of other wiki editors for his community spotlight since I follow them and knew most of the wiki editors. (Back in Spring 2011 or so). Right now, I'm following 138 people and out of that is about 40 wiki editors (active during this year) that I follow. The wiki submissions activity feed is pretty helpful, too.

Digging through the wiki submissions is pretty tedious, but usually people work on the same series for a couple of weeks. I seen users bounce a lot each day which I don't count. Also, Anime Vice's pretty slow and small which helps me keep track of most of the people I know. For the new wiki editors, I follow them and ask them if they need help. When I usually help them, they become regular wiki editors. I'm proud of that job. The other sources were project blogs and what things wiki editors like. I seen the patterns with their favorite genres, but they do go outside of their comfort zones. The final thing I do is PM the person to verify what I found about their work. I haven't PM everyone yet.

The other issue is how to apply the legend key for me. I think it's confusing everyone. I was trying to define who is just adding characters, credits, and stuff to episodes versus someone who adds plot to episodes. Also, I need to distinguish between story arc and character specialists. I have to fix that soon.

Edit:

I'll be ready add those projects for next year's blog. Nice pun by the way! I almost missed the meaning.
