Natsu: "I can't believe this is my Edolas counterpart"

Natsu Dragion whimpers and apologizes excessively as the others look at Edolas Natsu with confused expressions. Natsu questions why he's acting like this, and Natsu Dragion explains that his personality changes when he gets out of the car. Lucy then teases Natsu and asks if he still wants to do the mirror act. Natsu Dragion then explains that he is helping them for Lucy Ashuray and that he doesn't want to go any further with Wendy telling him that its okay. He recognizes her as Wendy and tells her that she's small and cute. But when Lucy introduces herself to him, he runs to hide behind his car and apologizes to her saying that he'll do anything she wants. Natsu Dragnil then tells Lucy to be more nicer to his counterpart. As Natsu and the others venture into the city, the others gaze at its wonders. While Charle comments that the city wastes magic on these unneeded pleasures to attract people, Natsu is seen driving a little horse that other children have been seen playing on earlier and consequently gets motion sick. Wendy notices a crowd while Natsu and Happy rush in to see what's happening. They soon find out that the giant lacrima from Magnolia town is right before their eyes.

Charle points out that the lacrima here is just a small chunk of Magnolia town because there are marks that show it has been cut. The King shows himself while Gajeel lurks the shadow observing the man. Happy then gets mad when the King, Faust, claims the Lacrima is a product of the Edolas's anima spell when in reality he had just stolen it from Earthland. As the King states that he wants everyone to celebrate for their lacrima, Natsu and the others watch in shock. The King continues his speech and promises his people that he will get much more lacrima than this in the future that the lacrima before them will look like nothing but garbage and smashes the lacrima with his staff. As some of the crystals break off and fall, Natsu's mind snaps. Gajeel heads back with disgust, and he wonders what to do. Natsu tries to fight, but Lucy holds him back. She tells him that she knows how he feels, everyone does, so he needs to calm down. The scene ends with the king laughing maniacally.

Back at the hotel, everyone except Charle looks gloomy. Charle is drawing something while Natsu declares that he wants to charge in but the female cat advises Natsu to be patient. Wendy asks how to restore everyone to normal, with Lucy assuming that the King should know. Lucy then comes up with a plan to use Gemini to sneak in the castle by copying someone to get close to the king. However, she explains that Gemini can only transform for a maximum of five minutes and take a stock of two people, but when they get a chance to change into the King, they should be able to tap into his thoughts and restore everyone to normal. The only problem is how can they get close to the King with so many guards. Suddenly, Charle finished her map and explains how to sneak into the castle by using an old escape tunnel that leads to the basement as she points to a basement below the castle where they can sneak in on the map she drew. Happy sadly comments that he still can't recall things like she can to which she says that she can't explain how she knows. Specifically, she explains that she gets fragments of information popping in her head as she progresses on her journey through Edolas with her friends

Later that night, two people are seen walking in the forest as Natsu and the others find an entrance to the basement. Charle asks Natsu to make a light, but Natsu forgets that he can't use magic. Happy accidentally blurts out that Lucy is the only one who can use magic, but he doesn't have much confidence in her. However, Lucy proves to be more handy as she reveals that she found two unlit torches. As Natsu and Lucy struggle to make fire, Lucy (ironically) makes the fire whereas Natsu is unsuccessful. After holding the lit torch in his hand, Natsu observes it and decides to eat the flames thinking that his magic may return. He then comments that his stomach feels warm with Lucy telling him to try the Fire Dragon's Iron Fist. Unfortunately, no fire appears on his fists.

As the others explore the cave, they find a wall with the inscription "KY-2c" written on the wooden boards. Lucy thinks that the wall is coated with magic so she summons Taurus to smash the it. Taurus then asks Lucy to give him a kiss or something perverted as a reward for his deed but Lucy sends him home with a forced closure. Happy still asks why he can't remember anything about Edolas like Charle, but Charle merely says she doesn't understand his condition either. As they continue, Natsu stops and remains silent, making the others anxious. He then makes shadow puppet with Lucy shoving a torch in his mouth for punishment.

Charle and the others then reach a new segment of the cave with Charle telling them to be careful. Suddenly, Lucy gets wrapped with some strange white gel. Soon after, Wendy and Natsu get tied up as well. Erza Knightwalker appears and asks if Natsu, Wendy, and Lucy are really Earthland mages because they look so much like the Edolas people. As Charle and Happy run after Natsu, Wendy, and Lucy, Erza Knightwalker and the soldiers kneel down before Happy and Charle because they are Exceeds, and Erza believes that Charle lured the intruders here to be captured. Charle realizes, with horror, that when she had been helping them sneak into the castle, she had probably been unconsciously luring her friends into a trap.

Points of Interest

  • Natsu Dragnion explains that he has a personality disorder, whereby he acts more confident in the car.
  • Also, Natsu Dragnion is very polite, and he seems to fond of Wendy because she is small and cute.
  • It is not known yet if Natsu Dragnion likes Edolas Wendy since she has different body or age than Earthland Wendy.
  • Lucy states that Taurus has the most strength of all of her Celestial Spirits.
  • Natsu can't use flame magic even though he has eaten flames from Edolas. The same most likely applies to Wendy.
  • Ironically, Lucy was able to start a fire from scratch whereas Natsu couldn't.
  • Erza Knightwalker thanks Charle and Happy for leading the intruders (Wendy, Lucy and Natsu) into her custody.
  • Two pieces of the lacrima (that Fairy Tail has been turned into) breaks off.

Manga & Anime Differences

  • In the manga, Natsu Dragion hides behind a rock whereas in the anime, Natsu Dragion hides behind his car.
  • In the anime, Coco does not appear when the King smashes the Lacrima with his staff.
  • Like the previous episodes, Gajeel makes an appearance in the anime version but not in the manga.
  • The torch lighting scene, Natsu eating fire scene, and Taurus's beg for reward scene are not mentioned in the manga.
  • In the manga scene where Erza and the soldiers kneel down before Happy and Charle, there are no spears on the ground. Compared to the anime, there are spears on the ground.
  • Censorships - When Erza Knightwalker kneels down with her soldiers, the manga reveals her leotard-like undergarment. But in this episode, the camera focuses on Erza and does not reveal her undergarments.
