War's End

War's End is an anime episode of Armored Trooper Votoms that was released on 04/01/1983
The year is 7213. The star nations of the Balarant Union and Gilgamesh Confederation have been at war for 100 years. As the two nations start to bring peace negotiations to a close, a group of rogue Gilgamesh soldiers hijack a decommissioned ship to rob a secret Gilgamesh base. Among them is Chirico Cuvie, a Gilgamesh trooper recently transferred to the unit, who isn't in on the planned heist. Cuvie discovers that something is up, after realizing that they're fighting their own side. After he is left on his own, he discovers a nude, bald woman in a stasis chamber. When the conspirators decide that Cuvie has seen too much, he and his powered armor unit, called a VOTOMS (Vertical One Man Tank For Offense and ManeuverS) are blown into deep space.
Some time later, Cuvie is recovered by a Gilgamesh ship, where he is tortured to find out information about where the conspirators went, information Cuvie doesn't know. The torture continues when Cuvie is taken to a military base on Melkia, his home world,  a world he hasn't seen in years, and a world which has lost three-quarters of it's population due to the war. Cuvie breaks loose, steals a fighter jet and makes an escape from the base. Fleeing to the nearest town, he learns that a peace treaty is signed and the Hundred Year War has ended.
Cuvie's war, on the other hand, has just begun...
