When a character looks far older than they actually are. This is typical in anime and manga especially with high school characters who can sometimes look almost like they're in their twenties or even older.

Bullies and Bullying

A bully is a person who habitually badgers and intimidates smaller or weaker people.

Delinquents

One who disobeys or breaks rules or laws, often used to describe younger individuals such as high schoolers who cause trouble.

Fan Service

Fan Service is often a sexually provocative moment or pose that takes place in manga and anime. It usually has no real purpose to a story, and serves as a lurid visual.

Fear of the Opposite Sex

A dislike of the opposite sex which usually manifests itself as crippling nervousness/panic attacks, hatred, and/or kneejerk violent reactions.

Flashback

Used frequently in Anime to either recap past events or provide a back story for a character, either their origin story or their off-screen training of new attack. Sometime and entire episode/chapter would be a entire flashback.

Fox Eyes

When a character always seems to have their eyes shut. This can be used to either show wisdom or mischief.

Heroic Sacrifice

An act when someone gives up something of great importance for a greater good.

Jealousy

A feeling of jealous envy (especially of a rival).

Love at First Punch

A guy/girl falling for a girl/guy after being physically beaten.

Martial Arts

Seen in just about every form of anime at least at one point. The key component that makes Shounen popular among boys. As well as Ancient art in itself

Masochist

A Masochist is a type of person who attains gratification out of physical or emotional pain. Abuse/Humiliation.

Moe

Moe (pronounce moh-eh) is a Japanese slang term for something one likes, and within the anime realm is used to refer to characters who inspire a protective sort of love-- usually because the characters seem to need someone to take care of them.

Oblivious To Love

Someone being completely oblivious about people liking him/her.

Unrequited love

A passion or romance for a person where these feelings are not returned by the object of affection. A one-sided love.
