Kei Yuki and a her pirate crew prepare to plunder what they believe to be a mining ship. As they begin to board the ship, the military, led by Chief Ilita, springs their trap and detonates the vessel. Kei's crew barely escapes the blast but they are captured in the process.

Meanwhile, reckless teen Tadashi Daiba, the son of Professor Daiba comes home after a run in with the Yakuza and finds his father dead. Mysterious being calling themselves the Noo take responsibility for the crime. They prepare to kill Tadashi but Captain Harlock arrives and stops them. While Tadashi is mourning his father, Captain Harlock invites him to join him on his ship if he wishes to be a real man.
