The puzzle is coming together. |

The name The Record of a Fallen Vampire is made very clear, while reading this volume. In the first half Bridget continues her narration of the Corrosive Moon’s (Adelheid) sealing by the powerful spiritualist Saverhagen of the Infinite Cross followed by Strauss’ abandonment of her as he began his 1000 year long journey to free Adelheid. This leads into the origins of the Black Swan who was created to hunt Strauss for all eternity. This is cut short as Bridget and company arrive on the final seal.
The second half mainly consists of Strauss’ scheming and manipulating those opposed to GM Gozen’s plan in a bid for more freedom and control over his captors. (the current Black Swan) During part of this he reveals a pivotal attribute and the reason his own subjects grew to deeply fear him.
Yuri’s art was a little off in this volume, which is a little disappointing but still manages to look great in the grand moments such as when Strauss abandons Bridget.
With one major reveal about Strauss in the last few pages and Adelheid on the cusp of being freed the next volume holds great promise.
