Plot Summary

Chapter 9

Mr. Ootori and Elizabeth show up at the Academy, as Ootori is slated to teach there. Mafuyu welcomes them with some of her homemade stew, but Sasha is pissed because he prefers her borscht instead. Later that night, Yuri Noda and Ootori exchange some vague words about the Icon and other people. Elsewhere, Hana is using her newfound S&M prowess to tie up a couple of thugs, only to run into a strange man named Yu Kuchiba. Yu uses his powers to knock out Hana's friends, then captures her.

The next day, Sasha recieves a love letter in his shoe locker. He starts to rip it up, but is convinced otherwise by Mafuyu to read it. Sasha then decides to meet the author of the letter. Meanwhile, in an abandoned building somewhere, Katja demands that Yu give her "slave" back as Hana lies on the floor in a catgirl costume. Katja uses her "mother" Anastasia to attack, but finds out that Yu is actually able to manipulate oxygen. Not only does he slowly suck the air out of Hana, but he uses his power to oxidize Katja's copper before it can reach him, then knocks her out of the fight.

Kuchiba plans to combust the oxygen in the immediate area and kill Katja to "send a message" to Sasha. However, Teresa appears and shoots Yu through the arm with an arrow. Hana regains her breath and escapes with Katja, but Yu knocks out Teresa with a compressed sphere of oxygen.

Sasha finally meets the woman who wrote the love letter, but she gives him a request to defeat her own brother.

Chapter 10

Mafuyu is jealous at the appearance of a new woman in the house, let alone the fact that she wrote a love letter to Sasha. She claims to be Aoi Kuchiba, and wants Sasha to defeat her brother. Suddenly, Hana bursts into the room (still in her catgirl costume) with Katja on her back, crying out for medical attention. After getting her to the nurse, Sasha finds out that Katja faced off against the Qwaser of Oxygen, who is very powerful on the fact alone that he controls an element that exists pretty much everywhere on Earth. She also tells Sasha that he has Teresa.

Yu makes a sudden appearance, threatening to attack Mafuyu and Tomo until Sasha dives with him out a window. He follows him into an abandoned science lab on campus and sees Teresa shackled to a wall, drained of her soma thanks to Yu. Yu reveals to Sasha that both he and his sister Aoi were practically tortured by their congregation, and need a miracle to escape, then he attacks Sasha. He also reveals that he filled the closed lab with so much oxygen that a single spark from Sasha's iron could cause the entire room to explode. Mafuyu chases Sasha and brakes through the door with her shinai, causing a backdraft that makes the room explode and sends the two of them down a large hole.

Chapter 11

Mafuyu wakes up in a mysterious cave with a river running through it, as Sasha appears to be dreaming of his sister Olja again. Back on the surface, Yuri Noda says that he was able to rescue Teresa, while the wounded Katja asks Hana (still in catgirl costume) to give her her Soma. Katja talks about Soma, and says that it involves transferring the feelings one has for the person being sucked to the one sucking the breasts. Back in the cave, Mafuyu offers her own breasts to Sasha's mouth, ironically invoking the image of the Virgin Mary breastfeeding Jesus. Yuri interjects that the emotion of love offers the strongest soma, as it is a feeling that is difficult to create artifically between the two involved transferring soma. Katja counters that most Qwasers prefer to arouse shame in the donors to get their soma fix, as it is a lot easier and quicker than love.

Elsewhere in the cave, Yu has a small breakdown as he has flashbacks of Aoi being raped by masked men, and swears he will get the Miracle of Tsaritsyn. Finally, Sasha wakes up and finds an emblem of the Romanov dynasty (the Two-Headed Eagle) next to him as he prepares to fight Yu again. Yu fires off several spheres of compressed oxygen at Sasha again, but Sasha combines his iron with the oxygen to create Magnetite (Fe3O4, look it up on Wikipedia, kids!), and dodges Yu's attacks until he pins him to a wall with his new weapon.

After remembering Mafuyu's observation about Aoi's bandaged hand, he calls out that there is no Yu Kuchiba, but that it was a split personality created by Aoi all along. At this revelation, Yu transforms into Aoi and wonders if Yu existed at all. Another well-dressed man steps into the area and reveals that Aoi had supposedly failed to become a Qwaser, so some masked men prepared to turn her into a soma donor until her latent powers woke up and she killed her captors. Unfortunately, she didn't realize that one of those men was actually her brother Yu.

Aoi loses control after hearing this news, and begs Sasha to kill her just as she transforms back into Yu. Sasha obliges by stabbing her/him with the magnetite blade.

Chapter 12

Rumors persist of a creepy stranger stalking girls around the Academy, who tells girls to give it "the light," and if they don't have it, to give their milk. Mafuyu and Sasha make an arrangement to look out for this entity, and wonder if it could be one of the Adepts. Meanwhile, Ootori warns Elizabeth about a heretic Qwaser lurking somewhere around the school.

Later that night, Tomo wakes up and sees a bunch of food but no one is around, so she decides to try cooking something. Outside, a strange man sees a fire and runs in to see Tomo about to put out the fire with cold water. The man throws his large coat on the flaming pot and scolds her for wasting the food, instead cooking something else by himself for her. He calls himself "The Super-Genius Joshua Phrygianos" and lets Tomo eat his cooking before he remembers his job to find Akira Yamanobe. Tomo corrects his reading of the kanji, only to show that his real target was Tomo Yamanobe.

Outside, Sasha senses a powerful Qwaser somewhere, and sucks soma from Teresa's breasts while Mafuyu watches. Back inside, Joshua tries to shame Tomo and collect her soma by cutting off her clothes and revealing her large breasts, but only succeeds at embarrassing himself. Tomo takes pity on Joshua as a flashback reveals Joshua to be the Qwaser of Roentgenium. The other Adepts look down on Joshua as his element doesn't appear in nature, and is practically useless. Joshua instead decides to use Tomo as bait for Sasha and Mafuyu, and to gain the Icon of Tsaritsyn, but Tomo refuses to be bait and instead asks Joshua to kill her so she won't just be a burden to her friends. Joshua yells back at Tomo to stand up for herself.

Outside, Sasha finds himeslf facing a powerful enemy he can't quite see, hearing a song as a large blade of energy nearly cuts him. Back at the house, Joshua cuts Tomo free and tells her to live, otherwise he will kill her for real. Tomo tells Josh to head back to his siblings, just as Sasha and the others return to the house. Sasha beats Joshua's face in with an iron chain, but ends up letting him go. At the end of the chapter, Sasha and Elizabeth each reflect on their brief fight, despite not knowing who the other really was.

Chapter 13

WARNING! VERY, VERY NAUGHTY AND DISTURBING CHAPTER AHEAD! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Two little girls are asking a policeman somewhere to "order" them to go to St. Mihailov Academy when he simply gives them directions. When he starts getting angry, they take out several small tools from their bag ranging from scalpels and syringes to pliers and dildos.

Back in class, Ootori appears to have gone on vacation, so Miyuri goes back to bullying Mafuyu and Tomo, while the class president Fumika Mitarai weakly stands up for them. She flashes back to seeing Sasha rescue a kitten from a tree, and still carries with her the tiny iron blade he used to get the cat down from a tree. Meanwhile, in the church, Yuri Noda tells Sasha of the "Parecelsus" organization, an old scientific group that was involved with the Nazis and the Japanese Army back in WWII, and that they are making moves among the Adepts in the present.

Some time later, the same two little girls appear on academy grounds, asking Fumika if she can "order" them to find Sasha. She wants to see Sasha as well, but says she has to go to the bathroom first. The girls interpret this differently and pull down her panties in public. Suddenly, Sasha and Teresa cross paths with them. The two girls reveal themselves to be "Q" and "R," and say their mother ordered them to get abused by Sasha. After somehow secreting pure mercury from their bodies, they claim Fumika to be "disqualified" and try to kill her, but Sasha protects her with his iron as Fumika runs away.

In Moscow, Mr. Ootori and Elizabeth appear to be gathering more information on the Icon, but they find that someone else has been poking around for that same information. A flashback reveals that someone is probably a cardinal from the Vatican. Back at the school, Sasha deducts that Q and R are being ordered by the Queen of the Living Silver, the true Qwaser of Mercury. Despite acting incredibly masochistic and graphically describing the ways they want to be abused, they seem to be pretty set on killing Sasha.

However, Katja appears with Anastasia in tow (and Hana hiding behind a tree) to take over, freeing up Sasha to find the so-called Queen. Meanwhile, Eva Silver (the Queen) uses her powers to kill a teacher and hold the classroom hostage just after Mitarai returns to warn Mafuyu and Tomo about the battle outside. Sasha races to rescue them, while Katja plans to teach Q and R a lesson.
