A young and remarkably perverse boy gets into a variety of wacky and sometimes gross troubles, but his wacky antics are always hilarious to watch.

Haha! I think that was my favorite part of the whole thing. Possible tagline for you, Tom?
Fair enough, Tom. Fair enough.
Shin Chan's art style is weird.
Agreed! I vote it be coined! XD
Shin-chan is heavily localized. I'm normally very against that, but for such a unique series as this it works. Also, as long as they offer the subtitled versions. It's all good.
I get a laugh out of this series, because the humor often references something. You sometimes have to be up on events to get the jokes. In that sense, it shares that quality with South Park.
I used to watch Aqua Teen, but never saw Super Jail. I stopped watching Adult Swim after they moved Code Geass to the 5AM for it's first showing. I heard they moved it back to 12:30 a few weeks later, but I had already had enough. I didn't like the dub much and I didn't need them to watch it. There were plenty of fan sub sites. This was before it began legal streaming.
"So put that on your bumper sticker."
was expecting "an smoke it" not sure why. Had a flashback to this show on that tho.

when the guy answers his phone "put it in my ear"
Shows like this il watch every so often. The Seth MacFarlane gatling gun form to jokes is fine every so often. But if they miss more than 3 or 4 in a row it then becomes a focus point for the missed chances .
None the less hulu atm has season one an 2 up http://www.hulu.com/shin-chan?c=Animation-and-Cartoons/Anime
may try it this week .
Shinchan is the only good anime out there today.
@zaldar: Also you're crazy. Shinchan is awesome.
Also anime is for jerks.
Actually, I've watched this series extensively in Japanese and it's pretty funny, but it's completely different in English. It does sort of have some parallels to the cultural standing of the Simpsons, but it's quite different. It's mostly about the kid saying very inappropriate things for his age, and his mother and father dealing with him, while being completely oblivious to their own shortcomings.
But the English version is so very different from the Japanese counterpart, mostly because the majority of jokes don't make sense unless you know the cultural of Japan. So they went and changed the essence of the characters, causing them to be fowl mouthed and rude. This really irks me, especially for the character Action Bastard (Action Kamen) who is very up right in the Japanese series. On top of that, they added in American cultural references which have no counterpart in Japan. With the exception of keeping the basic plots of most episodes, the dialogue has no connection to the original Japanese. I have also watched the series with subtitles (on broadcast TV), but the jokes are not funny when they are explained in the subtitles. (A common joke is where the kid, Shinchan, says a similar but slightly different word, changing the whole meaning of the conversation - such as once he mistook the Japanese word for beauty salon for hospital, and was telling some one his mother was going to the hospital).
