Syaoran and company come a country where a tribe of furry woodland creatures are harassed by a spirit in the form of a whirlwind. Then, they enter the Country of Shara, only for our heroes to be separated, with Syaoran and Sakura arriving in Yuuka-Ku – the headquarters of a troupe of performers, and with Kurogane and Fai arriving in a Jinja (temple). Yuuka-Ku is protected by the guardian god of Ashura, and the Jinja is protected by Yasha.
Syaoran and Sakura awake in a new country made up of tropical rainforest. However, shortly after awakening, they find themselves attacked by an unseen force which pelts them with fruit. Syaoran is captured but Sakura escapes to find Kurogane and Fai. Syaoran awakens to find himself tied to a post, surrounded by talking, dancing woodland creatures which are about to sacrifice him. After Syaoran is rescued by the others, they learn that the village is being attacked by a scary monster, which demands a sacrifice... and they learn from Mokona that a feather is near.
Syaoran, Sakura, Kurogane and Mokona set out to find the creature, and discover that the force is a massive swirling whirlwind. Meanwhile, Fai, who is staying behind as a hostage, tries to find out some information from his hosts.
Sakura spiritually contacts the wind, and discovers that it too has been imprisoned in this place by that force. Just then they see smoke coming from the village and return just in time to learn that the woodland creatures had the feather the whole time, and had inadvertently imprisoned the wind there. The idea of a sacrifice was made through, essentially, a game of telephone.
After a flash back of when he first awakened with amnesia, Syaoran awakens with Sakura and Mokona. with in the Country of Shara. There they find out that they've been separated from Kurogane and Fai, and that they're in the residence of the Yuuka-Ku – a circus troupe run by women. Fai and Kurogane, on the other hand, ended up in a jinja or shrine, where they are attacked by the shrine's guards. The guards are spared a thrashing at Kurogane's hands by the intervention of a man with glasses...
The man with glasses is introduced as Souseki-sama, and he says that Fai and Kurogana will be treated as guests. Fai explains that they are searching for the other members of their group, and Souseki allows them to stay at the shrine for as long as they need. As Souseki gives them a tour, Fai deduces that there is a power at the shrine that is being protected – and there is, a statue of Yasha, their Guardian God.
Meanwhile, Syaoran and Sakura watch a performance by the Yuuka-Ku, after which the two learn of their guardian god – Ashura, which they take with them on their journies. Back at the Jinja, Souseki explains that the statue of Yasha has started weeping blood. That evening there is a feast at the Yuuka-Ku and, as no men are allowed and Syaoran is a boy, Syaoran is made to cross-dress. However, before the feast, there is an earthquake.
The next morning Syaoran and Sakura help in the chores, as the majority of the women in Yuuka-Ku are currently hungover. However, some men from the Jinja come and harass the women over the earthquake, but they are overpowered by Syaoran. Suzuran, the owner of the Jinja, is impressed by Syaoran's agility and offers him a spot in the show. However, Sakura senses a sadness with her.
After drinking heavily the previous night, Kurogane and Fai discuss the Asura and Yasha statues. As Fai fumbles with chopsticks, the guards Syaoran beat up last chapter show up and report what happened. At first they believe they've found Syaoran's location, but change their mind after learning the guards were beat up by a girl. Syaoran and Sakura rehearse performances for the Yuuka-Ku, but while they are rehearsing, another earthquake occurs and a magical field forms over the circus tent.
Mokona takes our heroes to a world similar to modern Earth, where they go to a Sushi bar... and Mokona tricks them into doing a Dine and Dash.
