Japan's 47News reports that a small town to the west of Tokyo called Jouhana has been experiencing a boom in tourist interest, apparently due to the fact that the setting of the anime True Tears-- one of those sad Bandai Visual USA licenses that was dropped, until BVU was absorbed by Bandai Entertainment; they're releasing the series subbed-only on some unknown future date –was based on the real-life town, which is now a part of Nanto City.


This isn't the first time that this has happened; Lucky Star's Hiiragi twins lived at a shrine based on the oldest shrine in the Kanto region, in Washinomiya, which also experienced an immense surge in tourism. (Man, could someone sponsor me on a tour of these spots? I'd find the town that Haruhi's was based on and everything!)

Watching any form of entertainment may cause that sense to go to places, you have never seen before just because it looks beautiful in that form of entertainment. It may be because of "that" anime influence or some sort of depiction in other forms of entertainment that make tourist want to go there and see it. That may be beneficial and I'm glad that tourists are going to these places, that are deserted and see how the Japan's countryside would look like.

I watched some anime or Asian shows, and feel like going to there to experience what anime/television shows don't offer. For example, I went to China and I love it there, the sight-seeing landmarks, the beautiful countryside, and especially, they treat you like a king there. It's more beautiful seeing what the real place looks like than in animation form. You will experience it when you go there.

Really, how popular is that show? I know that the show look really nice but it was just a typical triangle love story.

Ugh, I wouldn't expect much just by looking at it. But, who knows, it might be pretty good
