Doing deals for large amounts of cash. Usually hunts people wanted by the law.

Breaking the Fourth Wall

The act of Breaking the 4th Wall is when a character seem to show knowledge that they are in a fictional series. Normally by talking directly to the audience.

Child Abuse

Child Abuse is the act of an adult striking or causing harm to a child. Not necessarily physical, but emotional abuse as well.There are also adults who sexually abuse kids called Pedophilia.

Comedy

Nearly every anime has a comedic moment here or there. Everyone likes to laugh.

Crazy

Characters with serious long mental unstabilities. They're sometimes simply weird but recently they're portrayed as downright homicidiacs. Not to be confused with the Mentally Unstable where the character fights against it and usually wins.

Crying

What someone does when upset/sad. Sometimes people can also cry from sheer joy.

Cryostasis

The process of freezing living organisms.

Cyborgs

A fictional being that is part organic and part machine.

Drama

Drama is a concept used in story telling to invoke an emotional reaction from the audience by using serious themes; such as tragedy, suspense, and death.

Drunk

Someone who loves to consume alcohol, and typically overdoes it.

Duel

Prearranged fight with two people. It is used in order to settle a quarrel over a point of honor.

Explosion

Explosions are featured in a wide array of anime/manga, created from various weapons/attacks.

Femme Fatale

A woman who is considered to be dangerously seductive.

Flashback

Used frequently in Anime to either recap past events or provide a back story for a character, either their origin story or their off-screen training of new attack. Sometime and entire episode/chapter would be a entire flashback.

Gun Fight

An intense battle between two or more characters using firearms

Gung-Ho Guns

A group of assassins formed by Knives and led by Legato. Their goal is to cause endless suffering to Vash the Stampede.

Heroic Sacrifice

An act when someone gives up something of great importance for a greater good.

Jealousy

A feeling of jealous envy (especially of a rival).

Kidnapping

Capturing and carrying away a person against their will and holding them in false imprisonment .

Lecher

Characters who exercise their strong libidinous desires in unwholesome ways, such as peeping on the objects of their desire, making inappropriate comments, stealing underwear etc. Though typically middle-aged or elderly men with a penchant for young girls, there are probably a few dirty old women out there.

The kind of character always gets into trouble by his or her bad luck, silliness, and/or cluelessness. A common source of comedy.

The character is working as a priest, a guide and teacher of God. Often leads holy rituals such as marriage and burials.

Protagonist

The main character of a story or plot. Most forms of fiction have the protagonist as a hero but there are rare occasions with an evil or not-so-noble protagonist.

Rage

Often when a character needs to grow stronger in battle, they find this strength through anger. A character being overwhelmed with rage can give them great power or even let them grow to a new level.

Revealing Attire

A concept where characters wear revealing or risque clothing.

Revenge

When someone returns an cruel favor to another after what has been done to them or an loved one.

Robot

An electro-mechanical machine which is guided by computer or electronic programming, and is thus able to do tasks on its own.

Screaming

A loud and often annoying vocal expression used to convey fear or excitement. Mostly done by female characters.

Secret Past

A list of people who won't reveal their past even though it might be revealed later. Who knows, it could either be an extrordinary timeframe, an emberassing childhood or an shockingly dark chain of events.

Slavery

A concept where one person is treated like the property of another, sometimes legally recognized as such in the eyes of the government as well. This concept applies to both those who have been enslaved and those who have "owned" a slave. In most cases the slave is a protagonist who rebels.

Sniper

A sniper is an individual who supports the front from distance. They use ranged weapons to shoot from very long distances with great accuracy. The snipers are famous for their precision and to attack from unexpected directions.

Split Personality

A condition where a character has two or more personalities sharing one body.

Unreal Hair/Eye Color

A popular design choice for characters in anime is to give them natural hair and/or eye colors that do not occur in real nature.
