The paper in that book seems to have the consistency of a cracker or potato chip. My first thought of seeing her bite into it like that was this.

This was amusing!

Wow, that was great, one of the better pieces of Anime Vice video content.

As far as SF gos i like just about every thing about it except the games, but you need a catchy opening, like this that in no way is being used asa joke for something that has a similar comcept

What I always liked about the Tekken series. Whenever you see the fighters do something in the movies. You can do it in the game.

The Street Fighter franchise produces great secondary products because it has such distinctive characters!  Cartoonish and over-the-top yet somehow still really badass.  The best Street Fighter related thing of all time is the Street Fighter Rock Opera by a little-known Texas band called Man Factory.

This is my second favorite song of the 00 decade, no joke:

Hey, a segment I might watch in the future (as opposed to Straight-Up News & Quick Picks)! I feel like watching the first two now.

Technical note: there was some distracting, intermittent buzzing from 4:39-4:50 and 5:00-5:11. Encoding issue?
AHR staff on Feb. 15, 2010 at 10:49 p.m.
@CalAggie: Yikes, craziness re: that sound issue - yeah, must be an encoding issue, that problem's definitely not on the original quicktime.  It'll be fixed tomorrow.  Thanks for pointing it out (WAIT, does that mean none of you other people watched to the end!?  That's the best part!), and glad you like the feature!

@AHR:  Instead of using the little drawn pics of yourselves you should try doing something on a green screen. Just have a video in front of you guys, off camera, that you can all watch for syncing issues, then edit it so that your green screen is shrunk down and overlaid on the video in the bottom corner of it. Something like the Totally Rad Show guys do when they review movies that have a trailer. Might be a little more editing work, but i think it would help the site by giving its videos a bit more of a personality.

The reason i love Giantbomb so much is because you get to feel like you know the guys over there by the way they do their videos. Some times they reference things that happened in other videos that to a casual observer mean nothing, but to people like myself who watch's EVERY video they release, even if its content i couldn't care less about, it makes you feel like your a part of something. Which is something i haven't noticed being done too much on anime vice from just watching the videos. To paraphrase an old Microsoft (iirc) commercial "Every news site can release the same news articles. Every website has access to the same information you do. What makes you special is the people you have working for you. That's something no one else has access too." You guys need to build yourselves up as being just as important to the site as its content. What makes your site stand out from others is the people you having working here, and you need to use them as your sites personality to make it stand out from every other website out there.

People can go to any old website if they just want news on anime. You guys need to work more on building yourselves up as the websites mascots and spokespeople. You need to deliver content with your own personal flare added to them, or the site will just be another drop in the internet bucket of news sites. I cant speak for everyone, but the reason I'm still here is because i like you guys as people, and i like to feel like I'm getting to know you guys better by watching your sites content. Try to do more video content like this, where you guys are just being yourselves instead of trying to act a part or a certain way. We came here and stayed here because we like you and we value your opinions, even if we don't agree with them, so just keep being yourselves.

That's just my opinion anyway.

@crusader8463: Interesting critique...at first I kind of bristled because I feel like the video content that they do is really useful, especially 3-Minute Expert (I like to show it to my friends in the midst of our weekly 'net video blitz, along with Zero Punctuation and the like), and Quick Picks ('cause I'm too lazy to look up when shit comes out).

But I do think that this video and the Squadcast, which are very much just chill, real-people talk, are probably my favorite pieces of content in terms of sheer enjoyment, so I guess on some level I agree with you. At the same time I don't want to see those other features go away, and I don't know how much time they have to do everything, so...
crusader8463on Feb. 16, 2010 at 1:41 p.m.
@lanaswift: Never said to replace anything, just that if they do more stuff i would prefer if they just kind of stuck to this style rather then their "acting" segments.

Great trailers this time around!

@crusader8463: Having worked in production, let me tell you that it's really hard to start adding stuff into the schedule. Though it looked like Gia was talking about doing more reviews on the forums, at least...maybe you should air your thoughts there too.

I used to tear squares out of my school books as a kid & eat them, eucalyptus paper was the best.

Fair enough... I ate Playdough, but were you doing it in high school? Though I guess being an adorable schoolgirl helps you get away with such indulgences.

Not so much in highschool... Not being a cute schoolgirl I naturally couldn't get away with it.
