The titular character of the Book Girl franchise, Tohko Amano is the president of her high school's literature club. She eats stories by literally consuming the paper on which they are printed.
Overview
Tohko Amano (あまの とおこ) is the heroine of the Book Girl franchise of light novels. She cannot eat real food and must ingest the books she reads by tearing out bits of pages and eating them. By this it is implied she is a yokai, a supernatural creature. As such, her book consumption is more than the idiosyncrasy it appears to be.
She is the president of the two-member literature club in her high school, one member being herself. The other member, Konoha Inoue, is a talented writer she recruited to write her "snacks," which are literally impromptu short stories he writes for her literal consumption.
Appearance and Voice

Her most notable characteristic is her braided hair. She is a staple character for Enterbrain who has even made cameos in other works published by the company such as Amagami SS. (Cameo example to the left, top of the image.)
She is often depicted sitting with her feet up on the chair with her school slippers off, as in the picture displayed to left, bottom of the image. This is her favored reading position and the position she is always seated in when in the literature clubroom.
Tohko loves both solving mysteries and helping out others. She goes so far as to utilize the literature club's resources in order to put up a mailbox for receiving letters from people who require assistance in matters of love. This becomes a device of exposition in both the light novel and the film. She is personable and sensible. These traits make her capable of resolving even the most bitter of conflicts with her charisma and kindness.
