Togame

Origin

Togame is the daughter of one of Shichika's father's victims, a man who set out with a cryptic goal of "righting history". Years after her father's death, Togame sets out to find the current head of the Kyotouryuu fighting style, which happens to be Shichika Yasuri, to aid her in continuing her father's goals.

Creation

Togame is a character in the Katanagatari series of light novels written by Nishio Ishin, a popular Japanese writer, with illustrations by Take. She also appears in the anime series of the same name which was created by White Fox and directed by Keitaro Motonaga. Togame, voiced by Yukari Tamura, makes her first appearance in the anime series during Episode 1 "Plane, the Absolute".

Major Story Arcs

After finding Shichika and his sister, Nanami, on a deserted island, Togame convinces Shichika to join her search for the Deviant Blades by making him an offer: his assistance in exchange for the right to fall for her. Shichika accepts and the two begin their journey.

On her death bed, Togame reveals that she had actually planned on killing Shichika out of revenge for her father's death and that all of her actions towards this point were carefully planned to achieve her goals. However, she says that her feelings toward Shichika were real and her last words are for Shichika to allow her to fall for him.
