Tite Kubo Covers the Classics

You've seen it done here-- a classic novel like Catch-22 or To Kill a Mockingbird done up with a cover designed to look more modern, more cool. Right?

Well, it's not an unheard of tactic in Japan, either. The Japan Times chats a bit about limited-edition classics with art by various popular artists. One such example? Bleach mangaka Tite Kubo, who reportedly drew covers for two classics, Ryunosuke Akutagawa's Jigokuhen and Ango Sakaguchi's Darakuron.

It's not new news, but I wasn't familiar, so I thought I'd share the covers with you guys. Especially since the Jigokuhen cover looks pretty awesome. Enjoy!

Koji Kumeta should've been chosen to do the Osamu Dazai covers.. :D
