Yep, the are characters are one of the reasons why I like both HXH and One Piece.

I should really watch the HXH anime, I just only read the Manga (which still in hiatus)

I get a feeling you might have mix feelings for the chimera ant arc, I feel it was a little to long for my taste

That's how I'm feeling now. It was fine up until the raid on the mansion but my god, that's been going on forever. There is a ridiculous amount of narration that just drags down everthing. I know the series has always been heavier on that then others, but my god it's never been this bad before.

It feels like the bad parts of Bleach where huge chunks of back-to-back-to-back episodes are nothing but characters I don't really care about (Octopus, Knuckle, Shoot... essentially anyone not King or Kilua) doing things I don't care about and like no progress is really being made on getting to the confrontations I'm interested in seeing. Even worse, a new big bad is on the scene and I get this horrible feeling in my gut that things are going to go downhill at an even more alarming rate.

Ok I belive Tom will like the Chimer Ant arc for different reasons than at 1st. The deep sub plots an war nature the show turns into. Heck at one point it reminded me of The Dirty Dozen .

HxH is a unique anime form of entertainment. Its not a copy of other shonen tho. As it uses tropes an even uses red heiring tropes to fake out the viewers.Where as one of the great things about anime to me is its different story telling pace. An not as predictable plots. HxH delivers that for sure.

Shonen as a entertainment form, Tom is right its not about where are we going. Its about who your traveling with.An yet for me HxH while i like the characters thats not the draw. Its the odd child like story world where people die.. alot. HxH is fairly blood soaked even on Greed Island people died alot.

Also the idea of Heavens arena with all the gamblers...I looked at it as the Las Vegas of Fight Clubs. An it made sense in that world.

An lastly Greed Island should have been a video game said so in one of the review comments. But its nature an child like rules reflect Gon's fathers personality an dual nature. Again people died in the game thats why the rich guy had to replace people.

I have a feeling over all he will like the chimera ant arc better than the other 3. I can admit that in the middle it dragged on for a bit but what anime doesnt. attack on titan basically had a whole planning episode and i didnt complain about but for the most post the character growths and delimas are well worth the watch in this arc.

People are steaming because they want to see more of the kings fight and dont want to see the rest. since they entered the mansion its been all good to me..minus the ill placed ikalgo stuff..that crap kills me lol
