Water Seven Arc (Partial-Filler)
The unbeatable power draws near? A very dangerous man!
Foxy has his crew back and trapped most of Luffy's crew in the Sexy Foxy.
Still Nami doesn't understand the afro effect.
Foxy uses his regular disguise techniques to look like Porche.
Zoro save Nami again this episode by shoving her out of the way of Foxy's beam. Sanji rushes in, but they are both hit. They spend the next thirty seconds helpless as their slowed mouths become closer and closer.
Nami and Usopp come to a door that says no women may enter. The floor it builts like a cell and men are below looking up. With Nami in a skirt, she can't bring herself to walk over them. Usopp those a flash grenade to blind them and they run for it. Usopp is mistaken for a woman, grabbed, and molested.
It's Luffy and Nami alone. Foxy has his Gorilla Puncher out with a similar machine with horse hooves. Nami pulls out her Clima-Tact to help Luffy fight. With Nami's help Luffy defeats both machines and Foxy loses.
Foxy gives Luffy the afro, but Nami confiscates it. The crew make land on a new island and gather food.
Foxy tries to sneak up on the crew in a very Team Rocket manner. They pilot a giant bike-powered crab. The plan is foiled when Luffy wants to eat it.
This will not be the last time we see Foxy. He appears in another filler arc after the events of Thriller Bark. That arc also has a tiny bit of manga canon to it, but not pertaining to Foxy.
The crew go deeper into the fores to find more food and run into Aokiji, asleep and standing. Robin has an uncharacteristically dramatic reaction to seeing him.
Points of Interest
- The closing events of this episode and the few episodes that followed were originally a part of the Davy Back Fight Arc events. These were separated by the Memory Island Arc events in the anime adaptation.
- This meeting with Aokiji has been altered from the manga canon. In the manga, the crew bump into Aojiki directly after the Davy Back Fight is over and outside of Tonjit's home.
- At about five minutes and twenty seconds in this episode is a very funny and big art mistake. Zoro rushes in to save Luffy from Foxy's sword attack. In the wide shot you can actually see two Zoro's. One blocking Foxy's attack, and the other still standing with Sanji, Usopp, and Nami.
