Sasha reveals how he beat the trap: by manipulating the molecules around him, he froze the mercury, turning it into a solid that could not hurt him. With this newfound power, he stakes Eva through the chest and burns her with his iron.
However, just as everyone is recovering from the ordeal, Eva reappears and kidnaps Mafuyu. Sasha manages to track down her location, but with Mafuyu's life at stake he can't attack. When he tries to freeze Eva's mercury again, Eva changes it right back to a liquid and cuts both Sasha and Teresa in several places.
Eva reveals that Q & R are dead, but there's an identical little girl named S standing right next to her. Katja appears on the scene to explain that Eva was able to regenerate thanks to absorbing young clones of herself, including Q & R, but also that Eva is an egomaniac who thinks of herself as a queen while Katja exclaims that you can only be a queen if you are born as one. While Katja and Eva fight each other, S plans to torture Mafuyu when she mysteriously bursts into flames from the Natrium (i.e. sodium) igniting within her body.
Mafuyu breaks free of her bondage and gives Sasha her own Soma so that he can wake up and use the iron in his own blood to form a sword and strike the final blow against Eva before he collapses from the blood loss.
