A girl searches for her father who happens to be a doctor somewhere in Japan. She accidentally runs into a pair of evil oni but is saved by the blades of the Shinsengumi. They decide to take her with them, as they are also looking for her father for different reasons. Throughout the episode the Shinsengumi debate what they should do with the girl. In the end, they decide to keep her around, but they will disguise her as a boy and give her a sword because girls were not allowed to be in the main base of the Shinsengumi back in the day.
