A new CD for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is set to be released, and no, it's not the single for the new opening, Super Driver.

The new CD is Suzumiya Haruhi no Gensou, which can translate to either “The String Performance of Haruhi Suzumiya” or, with a different kanji, can mean “The Illusion of Haruhi Suzumiya,” if you're interested in such puns.

The CD is full of character songs and theme songs and background music performed by the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, with Aya Hirano (Haruhi) and Minori Chihara (Yuki) appearing as singers on the album.

Man, I am so importing this. I hope there's a classic music version of God Knows. In the meantime, try this fan-made jazzy version of the song I came upon a while ago on YouTube. (It takes a minute to really get into the groove, but stick with it.)

Little weak until the vocals came in. Then was fun. Cute concept though.

I really like that one song by Minori Chihara called "Greed's Accident" and it's on the Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekidou mini album. It has a really nice violin solo so I'm definitely looking forward to this. ^^

This could be interesting. I might pre-order it depending on what songs are on it.
