Haruhi fans in Japan are tasting a bitter soup seasoned with just enough hope to lead to a number of conspiracy theories. The wording of recent Newtype articles about the supposedly upcoming sequel to The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is odd in and of itself.

For example, Aya Hirano talks about reprising her role in the past tense, which could mean she'd already finished recording Haruhi 2 but that it still had no air date, or she could have easily been talking about the recent Haruhi-chan shorts. And yet, some fans are holding out hope that Kadokawa will air new episodes mixed in with the re-broadcasting that was so recently mistaken as the new season.

Oh, Kadokawa. I suppose only time will tell, since you won't. I hope you don't mind your continual loss of potential viewers due to confusing and annoying people...

Newtype keeps publishing articles with vague and little to no information like before.

Remember this is Haruhi were talking about here. We may or may not see the second season since this is all subject to the wims of the SOS brigade leader. Have you people not learned anything? You think this is Kadokawa's fault? Haruhi is where the real blame lies!

Hahahhahaha, I get it now! I know exactly what Kadokawa's thinking!

They're treating Haruhi fans like they're Haruhi, except, instead of looking for aliens or espers, they're looking for details on the next season! It all makes sense now!

(But seriously people, you guys making a fuss over every little detail here and there is only EXACTLY what they want, because it's nothing more than free advertising and spreading the word for them. Just stop talking about every little thing and conjecture, and maybe they'll start cutting the crap already.)

HeeroYuy: Are you suggesting that I shouldn't cover it? I try to cover what the readers are interested in, and Haruhi is definitely one of those things. I'm just curious as to what you would do: give your readers what they want, or withhold it in the name of not giving in to Kadokawa?

I don't think that Kadokawa reads these articles, they are probably laughing as of right now

I'm not saying that  you shouldn't give your readers what they want, but I'm trying to say that most readers at this point are sick to death of hearing about every tiny speculation that shows up every week.....it's burning them out more than it's getting them interested. At this point only Haruhi fans of Kageryu's level would still be interested; a lot more people just roll their eyes at it, especially since their's no actual facts just speculation.

:P I just picked up the manga and started watching the anime again just for fun...I almost forget how great this series is!  I am content if they just leave us with one season. I don't want to wait for it no more.

I believe that Haruhi second season will come out one day. It's like the second coming you're sure it's going to come one day, one day. In fact I'm sure that's what Kadokawa wants you to think.

@Blindshogun And most followers believe it will happen in their lifetime, even though the odds are slim to none...an apt metaphor indeed.
