So someone linked me earlier to the official Russian dub of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's ending theme, “Hare Hare Yukai,” which led me on a search for all sorts of non-English, non-Japanese versions of Haruhi songs. Some are official, some are fandubs, but they're all pretty interesting...so since it looks like a bit of a slow news day, I thought I'd share. Enjoy!

Official Russian “Bouken Desho Desho” (OP):

Official Russian “Hare Hare Yukai” (ED):

German Fandub of “God Knows” (Insert):

Italian Fandub(?) of “God Knows”:

Official Spanish “Bouken Desho Desho”:

Official Spanish “Hare Hare Yukai” (ED):

Swedish Fandub of “God Knows”:

Polish Fandub of “God Knows”:

Pretty interesting, huh?

They're all pretty neat; the German fandub of God Knows is my favourite :)

This helps to reinforce my belief that the Swedish language is, in fact, the funniest language in the world.

Wow the Russian versions of the songs sound so off... maybe that's just me.

The German fandub was cool to listen to because I have that stereotype in my head where Germans speak really roughly with grunts so it was pleasantly nice to hear.

I really really loved the (?) Italian one. It sounded really pretty. :3

The Spanish OP was decent. There was one part where there were too many words at once that sounded off roughly at the 0:48 mark. I liked the ED better.

I liked the Swedish one. It sounded really... I dunno, really interesting. The only part I didn't like was near the end-ish where she started semi-shouting/singing.

Polish fandub was alright.

It was really neat to listen to different languages of the same stuff.

Yeah, to be honest, during the Russian one I thought to myself "So this is why Bandai is about the only US company that tries to redub songs anymore". It just sounds so weird and off...

I thought basically the same as RedRoses going into the German one, and basically I thought it was the best too...it just sounded cool...something about Rock and German...

The Sweedish one was just plain funny.

Well that was fun. Russian sounded good, But why did the Spanish version sound more 'cheaply' done.

Wow, the Russian ones were in surprisingly good quality.
