After speaking with the Fairies about problems the humans have been having, mysterious things start to show up around the village.
The UN Mediator comes into a village where the village women quickly find out who she is. The Mediator hesitantly greets them and explains she is here to assist her grandfather with research. The red haired girl tells her that the men are out hunting for food. The old man appears and tells the Mediator to kill all the chickens for food. Outside, the Mediator thinks how to do this, and the girls asks her to help them. The Mediator thinks about how humans have to kill to survive as the girls look at her with admiration (except the red haired one). Then, the chickens run away. At home, the village leader (grandpa) tells her that they haven't found anything in their hunt. Later that night, the fairies play around a bit. When the Mediator mentions the sweets are not coming for a year, the Fairies are sad. She tries to cheer them up with gum, but the Fairies refuse since gum is not a food. The Mediator tells the Fairies that humanity is going to be extinct. After the Fairies tell her kind to keep trying, she introduces a box for them to sleep in.
On the following day, the Mediator finds a bunch of processed food marked with the FairyCo brand. Though, the Village Leader is not suspicious about the food that mysteriously appear. The Mediator's assistant appears with food for her. The Mediator munches on the food for a bit, and she instructs the assistant to bring the food to Grandpa for inspection. Then, she spots a hair tonic. Later that night, her hair grew long. In the Camphorwood Village meeting, the Mediator finds the topic is on the chicken incident much to her disappointment. In the meeting, the Village Leader reaches a conclusion to search the general area. The Mediator learns an important lesson: never hold meetings. Elsewhere in the forest, the Mediator and the girls are looking for the chicken.
Then, the girls find a strange, beheaded, naked chicken moving about. It has the FairyCo brand on its thigh. The Mediator instructs the girls to capture the chicken but to no avail. With the chicken gone, the Mediator tells the girls to hide the truth to avoid the confusion. Over at the leader's home, the Village Leader reveals a photo of the chicken and its FairyCo brand. The leader, Mediator, and Assistant arrive to FairyCo with the help of a Fairy who is called Nakata and acts like a compass. They arrived to a strange place with colorful blocks. Inside, they are greeted by the receptionist who freaks out by the camera that is held by the Assistant. The Mediator finds Nakata missing from his cage. During the tour, the Assistant tries the honey and rates it fair which is lowest of his grades. It turns out that the receptionist has been hired three days ago. In the bread factory area, a robot called Loaf greets them. Loaf explains how bread is made, but their bread is easily synthesized from materials such as garbage. Loaf remarks that the bread tasted bad as a result. When he asked the Mediator to try a bite, she refuses, and Loaf begs her to eat him. He rips himself a bit which spurts out a red liquid. The Loaf explains he is mixed with carrot juice which is created for children who hated carrots.
