Sid arrives at Crona's cell to inform him that Lord Death has allowed him to attend classes in a trial run and that his classes would begin tomorrow. However, Crona is reluctantly to do it since Sid is a zombie and doesn't know how to deal with him. Maka is asked to give Crona a tour of the school to have him warm up to the area along with Marie, who was lost in the catacombs of the school and will start tomorrow. The tour goes along slowly as Crona is nervous around all the new students as Maka, Soul, and Marie try to get him to open up, Maka suggests a few things and encourages Crona to write a poem, which depressed everyone including Black Star, who had walked in later on and Sid who appeared from nowhere.
Stein is suffering still from the madness due to his exposure from the Kishin as he hallucinates that Medusa is trying to get him to dissect and examine Crona further since Crona's relation with Ragnarok intrigues him. Lord Death summons Sid to see how Crona is doing, to which Sid is hopefuly. He informs Death that he sent Crona along with Maka and Soul to oversee a mission in the Czech Republic. A village that makes Golems had one of their creations go beserk, which puzzles Lord Death as they are meant to protect. He asks Marie to talk to Stein about this to get his information on the situation.
Back at his labratory, Stein is further succumbing to his insanity as he madly types the same thing over and over into his computer. Marie comes in to help theorize about the beserk Golem, breaking Stein out of his state as they ponder about the situation. Death fears that Asura's madness waves may have an influence on the Golem, but Stein points out that they have no soul so they wouldn't be immediately affected. He also notes that the Golem that had gone beserk is the oldest one in the village and that may have had something to do with it. Stein doesn't show it, but he is still in the grasp of the madness as he informs Marie to pass on to Lord Death that he'll need to research the Golem some more.
Maka and Crona arrive at Luff Village as the group notes how many chimneys there are on the houses, assessing that everyone there makes Golems. Soul is cautious about everyone since no one seems to be happy to see the group as he tells Crona and Ragnarok more about how Golems are made. Soul notes that the people who create Golems are Enchanters who cast spells on the soil in the village to make the Golems. Maka can't find any information on the beserk Golem as a man named Giriko approaches them, telling them he can take them to the beserk Golem.
After some time, Soul is suspicious about Giriko as he confesses that he knows they are from the DWMA and he has lived for more than 800 years, putting his soul in a new body each time. The group is confused by his motives as the beserk Golem appears. Maka is surprised to find that the Golem has a massive soul and that Giriko is actually a chainsaw Weapon designed with no Meister and is weilded by the Golem. Maka and Soul try to fight it, but can not do any real damage as Ragnarok goads them. Maka bribes Ragnarok with candy to help, to which he agrees as Crona notices immediately trhat since Ragnarok was purified, his blade size is smaller. Ragnarok assures him that he'll be fine as they get ready to fight Giriko.
