Plot Summary

At church, Kayneth asks Risei about his request. Meanwhile, Sola talks to herself about being linked to Lancer. Suddenly, Sola falls down and finds her right arm cut off. She screams as she cannot call Lancer until Maiya knocks her out. Maiya calls Kiritsugu and informs him, and then, Maiya destroys Sola's hand. At the Matou manor, Kirei delivers Kariya's unconscious body. He is puzzled about how he feels about what he has done. Back at church, Risei debates whether Kayneth is a master. Then, he reconsiders and gives Kayneth his command seals. Risei hopes Kayneth will fight honorably. However, Kayneth shoots and kills Risei. At Kayneth's hideout, Lancer informs Kayneth about Sola, and Kayneth yells at him, but Lancer explains that they are linked by the pact. Lancer cannot trace Sola because of this. Kayneth believes that Lancer is seducing Sola like he did to the other woman in his past life, and Lancer asks Kayneth to retract that statement. Kayneth states that Lancer is nothing but a ghost and a puppet. Lancer tells Kayneth that someone approaches the barrier.

Saber and Irisviel arrives to Lancer's hideout. Lancer asks Saber about Sola's whereabouts, and Saber replies she does not know. Saber and Lancer begin to have an honorable match as the two begin fighting. Lancer notices that Saber's attacks are weak since Saber is not fighting with her left hand. Saber states that she is doing this to be fair. Lancer fights Saber with a smile on his face. Nearby, Kayneth rants about his servant, and Kiritsugu throws a bullet over to Kayneth. Kiritsugu has a gun pointed at Sola and throws a Self-Geis contract to Kayneth. As Kayneth reads the contract, he notes that he and Sola will not be killed by Kiritsugu and that he will have to forfeit the battle in exchange. Kayneth cries as he debates with himself. Suddenly, Lancer commits suicide due to Kayneth using the command seal. Lancer asks them why they have trample on his last wish. He curses them for stepping over his pride as a knight. Kiritsugu steps away to smoke his cigarette, and Maiya opens fire on Sola and Kayneth. Due to the contract, Kiritsugu cannot kill them personally, but someone can. Kayneth begs Kiritsugu to kill him, and Saber finishes Kayneth while Irisviel looks away. Saber states that she is a fool for trusting Kiritsugu. She asks Kiritsugu about his intentions for the Holy Grail. Irisviel is angry and asks Kiritsugu to answer Saber's questions. Kiritsugu remarks that this is the first time that Irisviel has seen his methods, and Irisviel reminds Kiritsugu to explain to Saber. However, Kiritsugu refuses because he will not explain himself to a murderer who takes pride in honor and glory. Saber finds Kiritsugu's words offensive, and Kiritsugu explains that glory and honor are illusions. Saber states that honor uphold laws and principles.

To reinforce his point, Kiritsugu explains that war is hell and that there is no hope on the battlefield. Humanity has never learn. Irisviel asks Kiritsugu if he insults Saber for his hatred of Heroic spirits. Kiritsugu replies that he does not and that he will obtain the Holy Grail to save this world. He states that justice will not save the world, and Saber tells him that anger and hatred will continue to bring conflict. When Irisviel notices Kiritsugu is gone, she begins to fall over with Saber rushing to aid her.
