End Card

In Mikasa and Rivaille's pursuit, Mikasa tells Rivaille that Eren is still alive and that they should have done a better job. Rivaille tells Mikasa to give up on killing the Female Titan and focus on rescuing Eren. While Mikasa distracts the Female Titan, Rivaille prepares to counter the Female Titan's fist. He spins rapidly and grinds his way on the Female Titan's arm to gouge out her eyes. Rivaille unleashes a barrage of attacks on Female Titan. When Mikasa spots the Female Titan's nape wide open, she fires a hook into the Female Titan's neck. Noticing slight movement in the Female Titan, Rivaille soars quickly to save Mikasa. Though, he sprains his ankle and manages to slice the Female Titan's mouth. Eren pops out. While Mikasa and Rivaille flee the scene, Rivaille notices the Female Titan shedding a tear.

Meanwhile in town, Erd, Gunther, Auruo's family and friends wait patiently for them to return. Unbeknownst to them, their loved ones were slaughtered by the Female Titan hours ago. Outside of the forest, the soldiers round up their dead comrades. Rivaille looks for his deceased comrades. Armin tells Jean not to dwell on the dead. Connie wonders how long he will live while Sasha tries to not to cry. A soldier tells Erwin that they couldn't recovered 5 dead bodies. Erwin tells him to report them as MIA. One soldier asks Commander Erwin not to leave his dead comrade behind. Rivaille steps in and tells them that it won't change the fact that the dead is already dead.

While the main force goes home, a soldier notices Dieter and his comrade are running from the Titans with their deceased comrades' bodies in tow. Erwin tells them to press on forward. Armin notices that they have limited mobility in the open fields without trees and tall buildings. Mikasa aids Dieter while Rivaille tells them to let go of the bodies. Rivaille notices Petra's body falling off the cart. Moments later, Rivaille reveals a badge that he pulled from Ivan's body to Dieter to remember them by. Later, Eren wakes up after remembering what he and Mikasa saw back then, Survey Corps soldiers arriving home all torn and battered. Eren hears the villagers making rude comments about the soldiers wasting their taxes. Before he could talk, Eren sees a young boy and a girl with big smiles on their faces.

Then, Petra's father speaks with Rivalle about his daughter. The other villagers heckled Erwin for killing more and more soldiers with the expeditions. In the wagon cart, Eren cries over his comrades' death.
