Released on 9-30-2003
Manta is the first character seen in this series. He is taking a shortcut through the cemetery to get home. While walking, he hears an awed voice that says, "The stars are beautiful tonight". He turns to see the owner of the voice, Yoh Asakura, a boy with headphones who invites him to look at the stars with his friends. It is then that Manta notices the ghosts surrounding the boy and flees in terror.
At school, Manta tells his classmates about the ghosts he saw, and they mock him for it. A new student arrives in class, and turns out to be none other than Yoh Asakura! He immediately reacts to Yoh, pointing and yelling at him. Later, after he calms down, he tries to engage the boy in some small talk, but Yoh ignores him. When Manta has trouble, Yoh brings him to the cemetery where Ryu and his gang attack them for trespassing. Yoh uses Amidamaru's powers and integrate with him to defeat Ryu and his gang.
