The Black Knights is an army of Japanese rebels created by Lelouch Lamperouge under the guise of Zero. The Black Knights were formed under the pretext of Japanese liberation although Lelouch's true motive was the obliteration of Britannia for his Nunnaly, his blind sister.
Some of the members that would be well known would be Kallen Kozuki, Shinichiro Tamaki, Diethard Reid ,Ohgi and Tohdoh(former leader of the Japanese federation which was another group of revolutionists that joined the Black Knights). The Blacks Knights seem to depend entirely on Lelouch strategy to survive as demonstrated after the Black Rebellion where they were defeated by the Britannian army due to Lelouch being lured out of the battlefield because he was informed of his sister Nunnaly being taken hostage. Although Lelouch serves a huge role in this faction it does not change the fact that he is a lot of times questioned by his fellow revolutionists .It is also important to note that the Black Knights have no knowledge of Lelouch's identity or of his Geass until the last few episodes where the information is revealed by Schneizel and Cornelia.
