A seiyuu best known for playing Simon in the recent phenomenal hit, Gurren Lagann.

Career

Tetsuya Kakihara is a Japanese seiyuu whose most famous role to date is Simon, the protagonist of Gurren Lagann.

Kakihara has played a number of popular roles, including Princess Princess' Mikoto Yutaka, Minamike's Fujioka, and the new series Linebarrels of Iron's hero, Kouichi Hayase. He also voiced Leonardo in the Japanese dub of the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series.

In addition to being an accomplished voice actor, Kakihara was born in Dusseldorf, Germany and speaks four languages: German, Japanese, English, Spanish. He has also studied Latin.
