Tetsuo Hara is the mangaka behind the macho franchise Fist of the North Star.

Hara debuted in 1982 with the one-shot Mad Fighter, and in 1983 he published Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star), which is his most popular series to date. He followed it up with a number of series, such as Cyber BLUE and Hana no Keiji, but in 2001 he returned to Fist of the North Star with a follow-up titled Souten no Ken (Fist of the Blue Sky).

Hara has also done illustrations for a few titles, including the arcade game Saturday Night Slam Masters, and the anime Mori no Senshi Bonoron (Fighters of the Forest Bonoron).
