Terry Bogard is the Legendary Hungry Wolf. He is the protagonist of the Fatal Fury series as well as one of the main characters of the King of Fighters franchise.
Terry Bogard and his younger brother Andy Bogard are watching their father being swarmed by dozens of homeless kids all asking for money. The kids then suddenly grab onto him and he is attacked by several thugs. Jeff Bogard manages to defend himself from the attack despite this but is wounded by one of the attackers. Geese Howard then makes his presence known and kills him with a Repuken attack. Terry watches as the little girl selling flowers gets into the car with Geese.
Master Tung, their father's teacher, instructs the boys to go out into the world and become the strongest fighters they can. They will reunite on this spot in 10 years time. Terry goes out and challenges fighters twice his age and size and eventually becomes strong physically, mentally and durably.
He returns to South Town and encounters Lily McQuire, the girl from his past (but does not recognize her just yet). He unintentionally disturbs Joe Higashi, the Muay Thai champion and the two are about to fight when they are interrupted by the local police. Narrowly escaping, Joe and Terry head back to Joe's hotel suite and the two make amends and become friends. Terry learns from Joe that Andy has become a great fighter, even breaking a few of Joe's ribs the last time they fought. The following day Terry is attacked at his father's grave site, but it is Andy showing off his skills to Terry and Master Tung. Master Tung informs the boys that while Geese has many of his secrets, there is a final technique that was never written down that he will pass on to his chosen disciple.
Terry and Andy decide to compete in the King of Fighters Tournament with Master Tung observing to decide who will learn the Technique. Geese sends Lily to Terry's room prior to his match with Richard Meyer with a bottle of wine. The wine is poisoned (and Lily knows this). Terry suspects something is wrong but proceeds to life the glass to his lips only for Lily to slap it away before he can drink it. Realizing their feelings for one another the two kiss until it is time for Terry's match. Realizing Lily has betrayed him Geese then arranges for a sniper to take out the Bogards during the semi-final round. Joe intercepts the bullet meant for Andy and the group flee with Lily's help. However before Lily can escape she is confronted by her benefactor who kills her for her betrayal.
Master Tung arrives in a jeep and before the group can escape he is mortally wounded by Billy Kane. At the hospital an emotional Andy charges off to face Geese with Joe in tow. Master Tung however leaves his bed to teach Terry the secret of the Hurricane Punch. After Terry masters the move he looks up to see that Master Tung has died on the spot he planted himself on. Terry thanks his mentor and then heads off to face Geese. When he arrives Geese has already dispatched Andy and Joe and Terry takes up the fight. Geese easily, and quickly counters and avoids all of Terry's special techniques forcing Terry to unleash the Hurricane Punch. Initally not effective, Terry channels the power, aided by the spirits of his loved ones and defeats the Lord of South Town.
Having accomplished their goals, the trio leave for individual endeavors.
Terry has spent the time since defeating Geese traveling the world, taking on various fighters and working odd jobs to support himself. Terry meets a young boy named Tony, who is fishing for food, and they share a meal. The pair then watch several children re-enact the showdown between Terry, Andy, Joe and Geese Howard (all of the children resemble them save for Terry's who is a bit overweight). Tony and the boys get into a fight with Tony besting the four (the overweight one insulted Tony's dead father) and just as he's about to finish off the boy Terry stops him stating the stronger fighter does not pick on the weak. Afterwords Terry is (politely) challenged by Kim Kaphwan and Terry accepts. Terry had previously hurt his leg so he has a hard time fighting Kim but manages to prevail. He is immediately challenged by Wolfgang Krauser to a fight. Sensing he has no choice, Terry fights but is badly beaten by Krauser (who duplicates his Hurricane Punch technique).
Terry later wakes up at Tony's home. Tony is out but his mother is tending to Terry's injuries. She asks him not to encourage Tony to fight as she has already lost her husband. Terry agrees then leaves. Tony sees him boarding a train and follows. Terry then becomes a drunk vagrant, as he has lost his will to fight. He is accosted by several thugs in the park thinking Terry is easy pickings but Terry best them and is arrested for brawling (the thugs are all lying on the ground beaten). When Terry is released he is greeted by Joe Higashi. Joe is ashamed of Terry and states Andy would be as well. He gives Terry a punch to the gut and informs Terry that he will deal with Krauser himself. Later at a bar T. Hawk, the US Boxing Champ, challenges Terry to a fight but Terry is too drunk to acknowledge him. Tony challenges Hawk to a fight but Hawk just lets his trainee deal with Tony. Terry watches this and remember his time training after his father's death. Terry, his fighting spirit returned, faces Hawk and after taking one of Hawk's strongest punches to the face, and shakes it off, knocks the boxer out with a single punch.
Terry, on his way to Germany, learns that Joe has been beaten nearly to death. He goes to visit his friend who senses Terry's chi. He warns Terry how dangerous Krauser really is and then passes out. Mai Shiranui promises to watch over Joe (a promise she also made to Andy). Andy and Terry meet up at an old training spot and the two proceed to fight to decide who will face Krauser. After a lengthy battle Terry channels the power of the earth and unleashes a might blast that knocks Andy out. Now ready for his rematch Terry and Tony make their way to the castle. Terry and Tony enter the castle (expected) and after words are tossed around the fight begins. Krauser enjoys the challenge and Terry gives him everything he has. Krauser's armor is damaged and Terry also draws blood, something that has not happened to Krauser in ages. Krauser senses victory and unleashes his greatest technique on Terry, the Kaiser Wave. Terry counters the attack with a Power Geyser and the attack launches Krauser to into his Organ destroying the grand instrument. The two continue their fight trading blows until Terry catches his arm and proceeds to pummel the large man. Krauser admits defeat but can not live with it. He commits suicide before Terry and Tony's eyes. Terry then drops Tony off at a train station, reuniting with his mother (Terry sent her a ticket). Tony promises to take care of her and to make him proud.
The movie begins with the theft of a piece of the Armor of Mars. Terry Bogard, arriving for his friends fight, sense a storm coming. Terry, having arrived late for the fight, decides to stop at a SNK Land arcade and plays a fighting game. After loosing the match and getting a harsh critic from a young viewer, he is run into by a young woman, Sulia Gaudeamus. She is being pursued by several masked men who Terry quickly dispatches. Sulia leaves before Terry can find out what that was about.
Terry sneaks into Joe Higashi's congratulation party and overhears his brother and friends worrying about him. He makes his presence known and is surprised to see his friend Kim there as well. Another of the Masked Men arrives and continues to pursue Sulia. Kim Kaphwan fights him to show off to his family and after a hard fought battle the attacker is revealed to be Cheng Sinzan. Sulia informs the group that her brother is behind the attack and is seeking the Armor of Mars. The group splits up into teams (Terry, Sulia and Joe going to Germany and Mai and Andy going to China) and head of to their destinations.
Laocorn dispatches his operatives to the two locations and eventually heads to Germany himself when he realizes Sulia is there with her love interest, Terry Bogard. Jamin battles Terry and the later compares his power to that of Krauser. Laocorn uses the power of the armor to beat Terry and as the two villains prepare to take Sulia Terry unleashes a Power Guyser on the rooftop and flees with Sulia, much to Laocorn's amusement. Sulia helps the wounded Terry to an abandoned church where she slowly begins to heal him. Realizing he may die before he is fully healed, Sulia sheds her other clothes and lays atop Terry using her whole body to heal the fighter. Terry is reliving his worst memory, the loss of Lily. When he gets to the part where Geese kills her, the scene changes to Laocorn standing above him with a dead Sulia in his arms. Terry thanks her for saving his life and comforts her while she rests.
The pair finally arrive at Stroheim Castle to find Joe and the injured butler in the wreakage. Laocorn now has all of the armor pieces save for the crown. Sulia and the others discover its location but before they can make way for the site are ambushed by Panni, Hauer and Jamin. Sulia leaves with Jamin and the others prepare to deal with Terry and the others but Andy arrives and thrashes Hauer while Mai defeats Panni.
The group arrives at the dead sea, the sight of the final armor piece. Terry battles and defeats Jamin but does not arrive in time to stop Laocorn from claiming the final fragment of the armor. A huge battle occurs with no fighter able to seriously injure Laocorn. It isn't until Sulia uses her psionic connection to her brother that he is injured. Sulia prepares to run a shard through her heart and stop her brother but Terry stops her. As he tries to convince her not to harm herself Laocorn unleashes another attack only to be stopped when Sulia stabs herself in the heart.
Terry punches through the armor's chest plate and free's Laocorn from the armors control. Sulia dies from her wound while kissing Terry goodbye. The armor returns to Gaudeamus who used Laocorn as a tool. Gaudeamus kills Laocorn then attacks the fighters only to come face to face with a psionic powered Terry Bogard. Terry uses all of the power at his disposal to destroy Gaudeamus and end his threat forever. Terry leaves the temple, victories, yet heart broken.
