This has been out for a while...I even own the Viridian Collection of this OVA series. What I want to see is an announcement about the original series being re-released.

I used to watch Tenchi Muyo all the time when I was younger. I really need to watch the whole series now.

First 7 of the original Muyo where good, then it kinda got a bit convoluted... After the Light-hawk wings it went south. Tenchi Universe I liked. The end of the Muyo was a huge disappointment...

Ryoko latest voice sounds so damn terrible. I'm sorry, but I didn't enjoy the last few episodes of the OVA series, it was so disappointing. I guess the best to hope for is a continuation of Tenchi Universe, that doesn't suck of course.

Sounds like shiiiite and I loved the original VA crew, watched it in 96 97 or whatev when I had the Sci-Fi Channel at home. Pioneer LDC(A?) had a lot of good VA business going back then, I did not mind a single voice in El-Hazard which I just rewatched..

Sadly there's not much of a choice for voices, and even worse, rarely if ever will voice actors get to actually act with the other people in scenes, mostly it's just being lonely in a dark booth with screens and scripts :<

I'm relatively alone in liking the newer episodes. I don't think they're as good as OVA 1 or 2, but they're a damn sight better than Universe and Tokyo. The voices are fine for OVA 3, everyone except Ellen Gerstell and Petrea Burchard returned. Admittedly Petrea was probably the best part about the original dub, but the replacement does a serviceable job.

Tenchi Forever was pretty much the end of Tenchi Universe.

One of my all-time favorite series^^ ....awww...who am I kiddin? It's easily my favorite anime tv series of all time :D

Sidenote: Damn...those american voices are god-awful!! °___°

Those people are crazy. Besides, the last thing Tenchi needs is another timeline/reimagining. They're up to, what, three separate Magical Sasami timelines? It might be the most convoluted franchise out there.

I toss my hat in with those who do not like this edition of the voice acting. I take more issue with the fact that I associate Ryoko's voice with a different character- where as I think the styling of Tenchi just sounds weak. There isn't the energy of either extreme- Tenchi always sounded like a sane but forceful person who had been pushed beyond the limit when he was stressed- and had a nice strength when he was in control. He is a sane man put into an insane situation- where he still manages to at least make a semblance of a normal life and demeanor amidst the storm. Nothing against the voice actors- its just not the same. Are the new voices better than the old? No; not really.

I'm not sure if adding another potential wife to Tenchi's cast is really what this show needs to go forward.
Was that what the old shows great? I don't think so- at least not in large.
What do you folks think? What would it take to invigorate the Tenchi Muyo story?

I'm surprise that nobody mention that Ryoko's voice is Naota Nandaba from Fooly Cooly. Naota is a twelve-year-old boy, whose voice is being applied to a fully grown woman.
