Taxi Driver

No one knows his real name, so he is simply called the "Taxi Driver." As you might guess, his main role in Canaan involves driving a taxi around Shanghai, usually with Maria and Minoru in the backseat. All we really know about Taxi Driver is that he is crazy, willing to take insane risks while driving in his car, and loves singing along with a Japanese idol named Nene who also shows up briefly in Shanghai for a concert.

In the second episode, he launches his car off an unfinished ramp while Minoru and Maria are trying to escape from a couple of Borners, and actually lands on the top of another building. It is unexplained how he got the car down, but this editor assumes that he willed the car down to the ground with his sheer awesomeness.

Later at the end of the anime, he makes his final appearance driving Maria and Minoru to the airport. In his taxi he turns up one of Maria's favorite songs comforting her. He didn't know what happened that made her upset but even though they had met briefly on two times he could tell she was depressed.
