One day at school, Tatsuki heard there was a huge hole in Ichigo's home, but he arrived safely. He seemed to panic when he saw the new girl in class, Rukia Kuchiki. He grabbed her and pulled her out of class with him. Later that evening, Tatsuki went to Orihime's apartment. She tried to council Orihime on how to seduce Ichigo. Their pleasant night shattered when they were attacked by a a large monster called a Hollow that neither of them could see. Orihime was struck down and seemed dead, then the beast came after her, slashing her shoulder and nearly choking her to death. She passed out, but woke up healed and with no memories of the attack thanks to a Soul Reaper device of Rukia's. The only memory she had was an odd jumble about a yakuza guy blowing a hole in the apartment.
Several days later, Tatsuki and Orihime were about ready to go have lunch at school, and she was defending her from Chizuru when Ichigo came leaping to the window on the third floor. He was acting weird, and she had to pull him off Orihime to stop him from kissing her. Instead, he said she was cute and gave her a little kiss. She went into a rage and threw desk at him. When Rukia appeared, he ran and jumped out the window. Orihime thought didn't believe that was really Ichigo.
When June 16th came around, Tatsuki told Orihime to talk to Ichigo today if she needed anything, because he'd be gone tomorrow. It was the anniversary of his mother's death. The next day. Orihime came over to Tatsuki's place, and she told her the story of what Ichigo was like when they met to after his mother died. After losing his mother. He also lost his smile. She invited Orihime to stay the night, since her family was out; but she walked to her new apartment.
Tatsuki later joined her class to the big event of the Don Kanonji's live spirit-hunting show at an abandoned hospital. She didn't care about the show, but wanted to keep Orihime company. To her surprise, she could actually hear a terrifying cry, and she could tell Orihime was scared by the way she clung to her sleeve. During the filming, they saw Ichigo and several other students jump the rope to get involved in what was going on. She could see a blurry shape, but not make out what it was. The next day, they were all called to the principles office for the scandal they caused on TV. Though, she sold out the boys to get her and Orihime out of trouble. They met up outside when they made a run for it out the windows.
After the Don Kanonji show, Tatsuki could actually see the ghosts that Ichigo talked about. Tatsuki had to prepare for the Japanese Karate National Championship. Hollows were attacking all over town, and one called Numb Chandelier attacked the school. Orihime saw it first, and she tried to get Tatsuki and Chizuru away. This Hollow was able to hit them with pods to control people. Tatsuki and Chisuru were struck, but Tatsuki fought the control to try and save Orihime. It was this event that woke Orihime's power of the Shun Shun Rikka. She healed Tatsuki and destroyed the Hollow.
Several days later, Rukia had gone missing, but no one had any memories of her. The school went on break, and Tatsuki left for the karate nationals. She got the second rank in the high school division. She would of been able to take the top rank, be she got hit by a car and broke her arm. Everyone in her class gathered to watch the fireworks. Tatsuki could tell what Orihime was going somewhere she couldn't follow. She told her friend to just come back safe so they could come back to this spot again.
Ichigo and Orihime returned home safe, and Ichigo was wearing an odd charm with a skull on it. He was surprised she could see it. After he ran out of class when the charm made a sound, see glanced out the windows and was shocked to see Ichigo running across he grounds in black clothes and a giant sword on his back. Shinji Hirako transferred to their class, and she overheard a conversation he and Ichigo were having about Ichigo's sanity.
A day later, she was present for the invasion of the Arrancar, Ulquiorra Schiffer and Yammy Llargo. She barely managed to survive Yammy sucking away the souls of all the humans in the area. She was defended by Orihime and Sado Yasutora, but they were also defeated. Ichigo arrives to save them all, and he still needed help to drive the Arrancar back. She was healed, and Rukia soon returned with some others. Back at her place, she was confused why she was so concerned about Ichigo.
On the night of the Arrancar attack, Tatsuki remained hidden as she watched the intense battle between Ichigo and Grimmjow. She also watched as recent transfer students such as Toshiro Hitsugaya and Rangiku Matsumoto fought other Arrancar. Several of them were defeated, but Ichigo's fight was halted by the appearance of another man, Kaname Tousen. The next day in class, Ichigo, Uryuu, and Sado had gone missing. When the Arrancar returned the battle was truly ended by Orihime making a secret deal to turn herself over. When Orihime went missing, many had no memory of her. She confronted Ichigo and went so far as to punch him after he told her it was none of her business. She was hurt because she had been with him in the past through so many hard times, but he was keeping secrets from her. She had to be held back by Keigo Asano, and these two were joined by Mizuiro Kojima to follow the the Urahara's Shop. They secretly watched as Kisuke Urahara opened a gate to the the Hollow's world, Hueco Mundo; and Ichigo went through with Sado and Uryuu Ishida. Urahara addressed them after Ichigo and the others left.
While Ichigo was gone, the city was still in danger from Hollows. Tatsuki joined a team of costumed heroes of Urahara called the Karakura-Raizer Team. The suits allowed them to focus their Spiritual Pressure. She was the second member of the team known as Karakura-Raizer Beast. During that time, several pillars were put up by Urahara to transport Karakura Town to the Soul Society, and all the humans were put to sleep.
Tatsuki woke up to find the city filled with people who were asleep. She explored the edge of town to find it surrounded by mountains, as if the city had been placed somewhere else. She found Chizuru Honsho and Michiru Ogawa from her class and took them with her when she found Keigo running around. She got him to help carry the girls to their school to try and figure out what was going on. She told Keigo the situation, and he asked if this had to do with Ichigo. Tatsuki was sure of it, but was also confident that he'd show up to fix it. She said that's the kind of person he is. After dropping these two off t the school, she planned to go find Ichigo's little sisters.
Her plan was interrupted when they were approached by Sosuke Aizen and Gin Ichimaru. She could feel the immense spiritual pressure from him and collapsed. Aizen knew they were friends of Ichigo, and he indented to kill them to send Ichigo into a rage when he arrived with a new power. She screamed for Keigo to run with Chizuru, and she fell to her knees unable to move. She was saved at the last moment by Don Kanonji, but he had to be rescued before he got himself killed. Rangiku Matsumoto appeared to hold Aizen back while Kanonji carried her and Michiru away. Tasuki recognized the Soul Reaper clothes Matsumoto was wearing, and she was angry that Ichigo never told her that he worked with such a beautiful woman.
She was able to walk on her own after they were far enough away, and Keigo reappeared with a sword he had found. He could tell Aizen was approaching, and they ran. They met up with Chizuru and Mizuiro, who had taken supplies. Chizuru demanded to know what was going on, but Aizen was upon them before Tatsuki could say anything. Again they were on the run, and joined by Zennosuke Kurumadani, a weak Soul Reaper. As all seemed lost, Ichigo returned. She could feel the incredible power in Aizen, but oddly enough felt nothing from Ichigo. Yet she saw him grab Aizen by the head and pulled him away in a flash. They could only witness the battle that followed by the flashes and explosions in the distance. Ichigo won, Karakura Town was put back on Earth, and they returned with Orihime.
Seventeen months have passed, and Tatsuki got a part time job as a assiatant teacher at her karate dojo. The next day, she met him outside of class to join the soccer team. She told him about her job, and he hated the idea of calling her sensei. Their arguing was interrupted as Orihime called out from the second floor window, and climbed down the pipes. She had something to ask the two, but Tatsuki had to hurry for her job. Though before she left, she warned Ichigo about how his boss will react if he didn't tell her about his new job.
Some time later, Tatsuki is attacked by Shūkurō Tsukishima, who uses his Fullbring powers to implant himself into her memories as if he's always been there. Shukuro later calls her and several others to Ichigo's house in order to antagonize him. Everyone is confused by Ichigo suddenly punching Tsukishima. They all hey believe he is both Ichigo's friend and family. They are then brought to Tsukishima's home as hypnotized hostages as part of a plot to steal Ichigo's reawakening powers.
